What that doesn't say is that we are now paying much more for gas and while it details just how Europe now blacklists Russia it doesn't reflect upon the fact that we still buy their gas second hand at just a more expensive price. Anyone who thinks that there aren't relative winners from the war just aren't looking. They rely upon the fact that normies don't have the time to look at this stuff and rather amazingly trust them.....in my view more out of convenience born of powerlessness than of anything else.

Not even sure if it is 'trust'. Just a populace utterly turned into nothing more than a consumerist mass. Where I work they currently have BBC News 24 on a couple of big screens in the canteen area. Usually don't bother watching it but yesterday glanced at it, noticing a rolling heading along the bottom proclaiming 'breaking news'....followed by the news that the Artic Monkeys were playing at Glastonbury later this year. What the f***? And yes, I know this stuff has been happening for probably a decade now but when you have not taken it in for a while it still comes as a massive shock just how pureile the mainstream news is. If there is one thing this Ukraine/Russia debacle (and it breaks my heart to have to see this terrible war consume Europeans for nothing at all) has finally proved, once and for all, is that there is ZERO attempt anymore at nuance or even pretending to pretend to there are two sides to every story.

And with regard to the actual topic, my take on it is that these kids should be punished no matter what. You don't damage books. Any book, especially those in a school library. Yes, fully buy into the outrage to that kid's mother having to pay public penance in that Mosque but the wider issue is I am willing to wager a few quid that the only book in that kids home is an Argos Catalogue. He has no concept of the value of books. Until we instil in kids the true value of the written word, then cultures like Islam which clearly still place great faith in it, will come to dominate us over time simply by dint of having the discipline that comes from studying anything. We in the West are losing this. And it will be our ultimate downfall.

I can remember hearing plenty of negative voices even during the Falkands War, with Argentinas claims being given all kinds of coverage. But this...in someways actually the very final pill required to understand how utterly broken the supposed 'free' West has become

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

Just like my comments on another post The whole country will burn if anything is ever done about Islamic extremism, the people sat next the mother & the rainbow copper in that briefing room are not extremists, they're the moderates.
