God, a frigging tutorial for growing lettuce would have been more interesting than reading that.

Rather than a continual back and forth boring myself sh1tless responding to your boomer takes I'll let the rather obvious events to come detail just how out of touch with reality your rhetoric is.

It would be kind of nice in some respects if the world worked this way but it looks like you'll be smelling some unwelcome coffee at the end of this.

As I have said to you many times you are under no obligation to read my comments and even less to reply to them. I will though post my own, as and when I choose to, some of which will include refuting claims made by others, you included.

A tutorial on growing lettuce might be very useful at the moment, given the supply problems. Not from me though. Not an area either of my expertise or interest.

Again as I have said before whatever happens you are bound to claim that things would have been better if only your preferred course of action had been followed. The truth is, of course, that whilst we will never know, there is a strong probability that it would have been a great deal worse. That though won't stop those like you. They always know best.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Just a reminder that this supposed to be a thread about the war in Ukraine......

While we get lots of warm words about this war and appeals to emotion few people are looking at the hard facts of the war.

Talking about pushing Russia out of Ukraine is all very well but the reality of how that could be done has to be faced.....Even if we ignore the consequenes of doing that post war people should face what it would require practically.

The reason Russia can't be pushed out of Ukraine isn't that hard to understand once you look into it. Aside from Russia now expanding its army to 1.5 million, Ammo is a significant reason. At the moment Ukraine is roughly firing 90,000 shells a month is an average of 3,000 shells a day. For comparison, Russia has been firing 20,000 shells a day on average since August. This thus means the Russian fires rate is about 7:1 in their favour now.

Russia has the capacity to continue that level whereas it won't be until at least the next year when the west could provide the same.....Russia will also look to increase its production in this time and is rumoured to be working with China on increasing ammo as well.

The very best Ukraine could hope for is a stalemate, while what is more realistic is that they are going to lose the Donbas and not regain anymore territory.

Due to numbers if the Ukraine are going to have an offensive they better do it sooner rather than later due to attrition rates both with ammo and men.

Wagner are talking about fighting for another two three years to take half of Ukraine that would be used as a demilitarised zone in front of the Donbas in any peace deal.

I very much hope that none of this comes to past and that a peace deal can be worked out before the winter.

Lots of talk recently about the Cobasna (lightly translates as sausage) ammunition dump in Moldova with an estimated 20kt payload if it goes up, firstly 20kt is nonsense, it's likely to be nearer 4kt IF it all goes up together.

Both sides want it even if half of it is rotten & the transnistrians have rigged the whole thing so if Ukraine does get too close they will blow it up.

It's roughly a 17 hour drive from me but obvious closer in a straight line, I'll likely hear the explosion.

People in Holland heard the Buncefield depot explode although I have no clue what kind of payload that had.

Still WW3 could well break out in a Moldovan village called Sausage.

A year on and countless lives needlessly lost and still no mention of peace talks. I am sure the "war" will last till the US elections as all the money laundering the democrats have sent to ukraine will fund thier election campaigns.....

Absolutely 100% agree with what you said ,

This bemuses me as an example of crass poor BBC journalism. Right up Tim Davie's Strasse, in fact.

"I became Ukrainian and I had to support them.'"

Them? Them? Surely the wrong pronoun. Perhaps a lack of integration in to local culture.

Where do you get your "facts" ? An army of 1.5 million? Are they trained?

Maybe you like most ignorant poor downtrodden Russians, believe Russian State TV.

This info was been all over the western media in December.

Here's a sky news link, but there are many western news links if you look.

Far far easier than accessing Russian state TV, how on earth would you do that anyway?

Trained? Who cares? Anyway, It's known that Russia train their mobilised in Belarus for six weeks before sending them to units.

Seems besides the point as It's hardly as though the vast bulk of Ukrainian forces are trained. Most large scale wars have always been fought between conscripts.

The war should never have got to this stage but that's a long dead chestnut now.
