The irony of the situation…PVs last game at Palace could be against Arsenal!!!

Sad for Vieira to be humiliated by an inevitable defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
He was not supported in the last window and Parish and the Yanks will see their investment nose dive following relegation, confirming that you cannot have Premiership Football on the cheap.

7 goals in the last 14 league games, I believe.

There has only been one worse run in our Premier League history: in 2017 when the team scored 6 goals in that span of matches under Allardyce, de Boer and Hodgson. Amazingly, all six goals were scored in just two games - both victories

Three Palace journalists with good contacts, Ed Aarons, Dom Fifield and Matt Woosnam are all now reporting that Vieira is on borrowed time.
It must make the preparation for the Arsenal game difficult and I suspect he will go after this game.
It has echoes of FDB when it was an open secret that he was out, but he still took the Burnley game.
It sounds very much that the decision has been made.

Sean Dyche would have turned around our poor form......in my opinion.

sadly, that boat has already sailed......up the Mersey.

and for the life of me, i cannot think of another natural born manager....that is currently on the dole.

whether the rot at Palace is the fault of the manager, or the Board, or the players......you tell me. But i fear for our Prem survival

I agree with the sentiments of Ed,Dom and Matt.

me too. I like PV, but i like Palace more.

We urgently need a new tactician to move the chess pieces around.

Is Gary Linekar available ?

What I’m confused about is at the start of PVs stint, we pressed hard, we’re competitive in the middle of the park, and although leaked goals, we were exciting to watch. Comparisons made to the ‘team of the 80s’.

I’m really at a loss as to what he thinking is now? Richard’s is a great defender - wasted on the bench - surely some tactical adjustments could improve the situation.

Anyway, I’m just waffling away - apologies- it’s just so demoralising

Willo my friend so do I..!!

TBH - I say it with a heavy heart - I honestly thought PV was a great appointment- and first season supported that opinion.

But it can’t be denied we are woefully under performing given the comparative quality of our squad, allied with at times bewildering selection’s, formations, tactics and general game management.

And for that sadly the buck sits firmly with PV..!

If as seems the case - the decision has already been made- I assume discussions have already taken place and we have someone lined up to take over - I’m intrigued to see who that will be…!!

Obvious candidates Lampard and Gerrard - then maybe someone from left field - time will tell.

Whoever it is has a decent/fortunate run of fixtures to secure safety and make a name for themselves- so on that basis allied with the comparative quality of the squad- I can’t see it being to difficult a “sell”..!!

We will see..!

I think Arsenal is the one.

If by some miracle the players, now PV’s job risk is in the public consciousness, actually respond and by miracle of all miracles beat Arsenal, perhaps there is hope.

If we don’t turn up and fail to score, as I’m fully expecting, could well be it.

I like PV I really do, but this has now become a long drawn out saga with its origins last summer where the board must take blame but he’s had time to build a case for himself now and has not. Literally nothing has changed.

It’s not a happy thing but I really cannot see anything but his departure ending this pain for all involved. The worst possible scenario is surely sacking PV without having a replacement lined up which I also fear and would fit a narrative.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Get the Arsenal game out of the way. 5 points from the following 5 easy peasey fixtures and we will be close to safe. Relax.

All nil nil draws as we cannot score, good thinking!
