Surprised and disappointed at this news. The PL have done us no favours with the most terrible run of fixtures, and we haven't been battered in any of these games. We have generally fought hard. There are clear weaknesses in the squad that everyone can see and haven't been addressed.
The only argument in favour of the decision is that several players have not progressed from last season - is this due to the coaching or have they reached a ceiling ? Only time will tell.

100%, though of course I hope we dont

And we still need a striker

I have lost all interest in this season. A decent man who was given a difficult brief and not supported by the Board. In all honesty we deserve to go down.

Thank you Patrick.

I hope SP look at their roles and see whether they should sell the club in the summer. To leave the squad so imbalanced is their fault.

Considering we'd only need 10-11 points to stay up from the remaining 11 games, of which the majority are far kinder fixtures than the run we've been on, it does still feel a bit harsh, especially if they don't have a clear strategy in place to replace him, and quickly.

If one of those early 1v1s goes in against Brighton and we draw, does he still get sacked? We seem to be unable to convert chances since the WC break and that comes down to individuals, not management.

Jury is out as to whether a new manager will fare any better across the last 11 games than if we'd retained PV for the rest of the season.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

Best news since Hodgson left. Some can blame the owners but when you play the same tactics time and again and pick the same useless lazy players like Sclupp when its clearly not working your not doing yourself any favours. Theres a team there that, under the right management should have no worries of relegation.

Only Dean Kiley of the first team coaching staff remains.
No mention of who will take the Arsenal game, with Parish just saying the process of recruiting a new manager is underway.
The radio is speculating that this means somebody may well be lined up.
We certainly can't afford the long delays encountered in the past when appointing a new manager.
The team selection will be interesting on Sunday.

Disappointed. The Board didn’t support him enough in the transfers. Same old problems - no money, no strikers, no goals.

And it’s been a tough run of games.

We can’t go back to the Pardew and Hodgson football.

Vincent Kompany would be the best choice of those available.

Just waiting for this site to crash!!

I’m sure the thread will reach 50+ pages by tonight!!

Convinced they will ask Paddy to step up from the U21s in the interim.

They will have someone in place pretty soon.

Too many players lacking confidence and players have lost their belief in him.

A s*** show. What an absolute f***ing disgrace of a s*** show. We finally get ourselves an exciting young manager and we f*** him. I've always stood by the board for the job they've done but this is the last straw, we will never get out of this revolving door of bollocks with the current owners.

Feel sorry for Vieira and embarrassed for the fans.

And to add insult to injury? Absolutely classic Parish. "The search for a replacement is underway"
If this has been such a long time coming then WHY have they not found a replacement yet? NOBODY worth his salt is going to touch this club with a barge pole now. Odds on we get Roy or Colin back because that's the only thing we'll be able to manage.

f*** em.
