That Athletic article should be taken down. It's copyright infringement. Those guys are great journalists and free sharing of their stuff with a potential target audience is very damaging to them.

Speaking as someone who's spent almost thirty years working in the media, let me assure you the very occasional free sharing of their stuff, which they'll loudly complain about because that's what you do, is the very best marketing they could get and far less expensive than an advertising campaign. Secretly, they'll be delighted. Thousands of Palace fans will read that article, realise what they're missing because of the firewall, and subscribe to The Athletic. Which isn't remotely damaging at all.

Hopefully they will read the Trust Pilot reviews before they part with their hard earned money

Playing fast and loose with the phrase ‘hard earned’. Oh wait, it was a reference to Palace fans, not players.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I’ve always thought that The Athletic just re-hashes posts off this website as do I’m sure lots of online click bait sites.

I am sad to see Vieira the man leave the club but not the manager.

Too loyal to his inept coaching staff, and let the best one leave just because he demanded more from the team.

The stats don't lie and we have become a very lazy team out of possession and that has to sit with the management and coaching. Too many players knew they would get picked every week however well or badly they played and that is not good.

Sadly, a lack of management experience came back to to haunt him with no plan B and some very poor team decisions in crucial matches.

I think it will be very likely that we will patch things up for the rest of the season with a view to a bit of an overhaul and fresh start in pre season.

I doubt Kompany will consider us given his comments today, but maybe Carrick is worth a look if he fails to get Boro up. We may see some other promising names become available too depending on where teams finish this season so maybe waiting would benefit us more in the long run.

We will certainly miss a man of Vieira's stature in the hot seat, as many players came to us because of him. But they are then expected to learn from inept coaches which has been a huge let down. Very glad to see the back of them all to be honest as they are way out of their depth.

Hodgson is being touted as he knows the squad but would be a very risky and poor decision and will take the club backwards.

I am sure there are names in place but whether they will join now or next season could be a major stumbling block, and we do not want to go backwards just to get someone in.

Lampard and Gerard are massive no no's, as is Benitez too.

I think we have enough to stay up which is the main thing for now and then need a quick decision to get in the new man asap so that they get a full pre season and they will need a nice sum of money to as the squad needs a big shake up.

The worry is this is Palace and we never seem to sort things out quickly so expect the unexpected.

Will always continue to support the team I love and that all we have to do as fans at this time.

Much as Kompany and Carrick are doing well at present (and good luck to them both) they are similar in profile to Lampard and Gerrard.

Promise in the Championship to reversing a huge slide in the Prem is a massive gap.

Also, IIRC Carrick was a coach during some of the s***head's more difficult times recently.

Fair comments but I think Carrick has something about him.

Would be a risk agreed, but I don't think it would be as big as a Lampard who failed to get Derby up with a tailor made squad, and Gerard who was at Rangers where there are only ever 3 hard matches a season against the rivals. Hardly having to make big decisions or tactical changes.

What Carrick has done with that Boro squad is very commendable and is far more respected in my eyes.

I think we probably fall into the difficult owners box as far as most candidates go.

I have just looked at the team against Fulham. The 2 players dropped were Guehi and Meteta by the looks of it.

I suspect Meteta was the one going in on the academy players too hard and Guehi stood up for them.

If so, Meteta is a useless lump. Next manager should offload asap.

At this club it's SP/DF who decide what's best for the team, Managers don't get a say as has been so clearly demonstrated for a few seasons now!

The thaw in relations between the UK and EU has regrettably not saved Patrick's job.

But we should look further than brexit in this case.

I can reveal, exclusively, (Reuters and Aunt Dorothy), that HS2 delays are responsible for this termination.

The board decided that they simply could not wait until 2035 for another goal.
