Perhaps if protesters gluing themselves to major infrastructure had chosen to attach themselves to Minister’s front doors, the public wouldn’t have been inconvenienced and the draconian laws not introduced. I'm not sure you'd support the reasoning behind it if you look into it. The government wants to be able to appoint and sack judges more easily - has been described as politically motivated, fair enough.

This is simply the Mail and the Telegraph trying to wind you up, and it seems they have succeeded. This is a big nothing. Books are not scripts. Adaptations of books for stage and and screen presentation have always been done. This is nothing new at all. Dickens was a social reformer who, if he were writing today, would doubtless say exactly what the adaptation says. It's taking his messages and trying to make them relevant to a modern audience. The only way to judge is to watch it and decide on the whole, in its context. Which is a screen in 2023. Not paper in 1861. If you want to read the original it's still available. Nothing has been cancelled.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
