Please, forget Roy. He's 75 and has earned his retirement. Failed at Watford when they were desperate, and anyway he retired from managerial football in May 2022. In broad terms I agree with you analysis and view that it’s ridiculous that the club find itself in this position.
That being said, we are where we are I’m looking at the next games as a mini season.
It’s going to a nervy time with experience a very useful commodity.
Is it fair to entrust this to a novice manager who’s only real experience is with young players at a more junior level, a world away from the scrutiny of the so called ‘best league in the world.’
It has to be a gamble.
It may also be a gamble bringing back Roy and Ray, but in my judgement it would be less of a gamble than Paddy.
In the summer, when we are clear which division we are in, we can plan for a new manager with a budget to suit either scenario.
