Just got back from the game.

You boys were absolutely shocking! it's sad to see your away fans suffer in silence, you used to be the most passionate fans to come to the Emirates every year.

Turning point for me was Zaha at 4-1, he was moaning with Edouard on centre circle, he decided to do what he wanted and started showboating ignoring any tactics from the manager - he's a horrible ill-disciplined individual.

Well done to Schlupp for taking his chance well.

He takes ridiculous amounts of flak, but he has a happy knack of scoring a goal once in a while.

My view is that we should play Ayew as a central striker - I think he would surprise a few people.

The club is in a bad place at the moment, but it's futile to keep knocking players and the chairman.

'We get knocked down but we get up again' - that should be be the attitude.

Really?!?!?!?

I suggest you stick to using Arsenal fans websites. We honestly don’t need your opinion about either our fans or players - get lost! Go and gloat somewhere else…
Bye…

Should never got rid of Patrick Van Aanholt , would have suited this team perfectly but was another one the fans turned on for absolutely no reason

If the chairman had wanted to he could have refused to spend the money but he backed the new manager. (this was not profit money from sales etc)

Those players was PV signings did he get every one he wanted no.

People are making excuses one minutes its no backing next well manager didnt select the players.

You have said about run down Hodgson yet look at the players still at the club who was around then and start

Zaha
Ayew
Schlupp
Ward/Clyne
Mitchell
Guaita

Roy for many seasons had no problem finishing around 13th with far less resources and the players which are not near quality we have now.

Your quote is the real question and looking at the starting players it was good spending

Edited by grumpymort (19 Mar 2023 5.05pm)

Of course the chairman didn't have to spend, but he did. No doubt in interview transfer funds was discussed for the necessity of replacements for those players who were out of contract and were not replaced. Had those funds not been spent we would most definitely have been contenders for relegation last season.
The point I am trying to make is that Lanzo is saying that Vieira has had xxx amount spent, but to me, that was a necessary spend, and it would have happened whoever took the role.

Roy did enough with the resources available to him, agreed. Treading water maybe, but it could be argued that that was his brief. Incidentally I disagree with your statement that Roy had far less resources and the players which are not near quality we have now. Roy is on record stating that he had his best squad ever...
Vieira this season has had a really poor squad to work with after the departure of Gallagher and Kouyate, and injury of McArthur. Add in some ageing players clearly not at the level anymore and it's no surprise we are where we are.
At the beginning of the season I predicted a 15/16/17th place finish. I didn't expect Vieira to be sacked. But now I'm considering that relegation is a very real possibility.

You thought the turning point was at 4-1 when Zaha had a row with someone who wasn’t actually on the pitch? Poor attempt at trolling. Maybe if you behave mummy will let you stay up to watch MotD.

Good post , I agree about we really are facing relegation , something has happened up top which we will never know about if you listen to paddy’s interviews he’s saying “what we have had to go through last 48 hours” I’m certain something else is going to happen

No I’m not joking he was a great attacking player scored very important goals and had a relationship with Wilf , he was sold and never replaced which speaks volumes on its own
