Bert met Eric at a time when the country was comparatively sane; before authoritarians like you stated telling people who they should or should not do business with and what they must or must not collaborate in.

We both have an immigrant heritage, as does everyone in the UK. Immigration has always happened. It's nothing new, just as objections to it aren't anything new. I don't suppose the Romans or the Normans were welcomed with open arms, let alone the Vikings! It goes in waves, and takes time to settle down. My parents were both strongly opposed to those who arrived in the 50s and 60s, from the Caribbean, India and Africa. Most of us accept that now as just part of our history, although I expect you still think they should all "be sent back". Assimilation takes time, sometimes a lot of time, and it demands effort, sometimes a great deal of effort, but it happens. Cultures change, birth rates trend downwards to match the average. Intermarriages occur, demarcation lines get blurred, and we end up with a population in which our Roman, Norman and Viking genes might still be there, but we are all British. So yes, this is a conspiracy theory and a very nasty one.

That might be how you would see it, if you were a Director casting a play. Another Director, seeking to make a specific point, might deliberately cast the role differently. He might be seeking a reaction. Exactly the same with Ann Boleyn. Unless you are trying to produce a historically accurate documentary anything could be done. Fact!
