You think this manager appointment has been well done? It's amateurish with actually no plan at all.
I don't care or know the full situations of teams below us. Frankly, there won't be more than two or three below us at the end of the season. How will Roy turn this around?

Being the only choice is desperation rather than actually being at all wanted. Any poll is not going to come out with 'Palace fans want Roy back'. Far from it.

Plus, how are the facilities? The new stand. All our money wasted on mercenaries' wages. All with no sell on value. There is no improvement at the club at all except for the Academy.
As it turns out we would have been required to have that academy within a couple of seasons anyway.
That's where it's amateurish too. As I'm trying to point out, a long term strategy is required but we look like we can't plan a week ahead - let alone a couple of seasons.
How many times did we start a season clearly deficient in one or more area? I didn't notice other sides having no left backs etc. The list goes on. But there's little point if someone's going to list some names and say Roy is the best.
He's poor at best and it lacks any coherence, planning or foresight.
There is a whole world of managers out there. Some have even saved sides, despite the fans and Parish not liking them. I'd take a bad guy to save us. I wouldn't care less who it is.
To counter it all, I don't like disrespecting Roy, he had his time with us and I'm grateful for that but anyone at all gracious would have said no to this. I have zero faith in this working.

I disagree and leave it at that. I don't think it's as easy as you seem to think, to do everything in running a Premier league club in it's longest stint in the Premier League.

Back to the post of Positivity maybe

I didn’t think it could be any louder until we scored our first and the roof came off. From there to the end the fans drove that team on and Liverpool fell apart. We need that kind of support for the next 11 games, whatever happens, to lift our players and get the points we need.

One can hope!

From the ones touted (might've been more but I don't know.)

1. Carrick - not going to leave a Middlesborough on a role.
2. Gerrard - zero affinity with the club much less any more of a clue than Vieira and still learning.
3. Lampard as above.
4. Hassenhuttel - probably the only one I expect would've been ok but it depends if he wants a relegation scrap.
5. Favre - As above, I doubt he wants 2 weeks to work on a team he doesn't know ow and hasn't picked and would most likely be more interested in the summer for a rebuild.
6. Bielsa - Same as Favre

Why do you disregard Gerrard on the basis that he has zero affinity with the club then list five other potential managers none of whom have any affinity with the club.

The board does deserve some of the blame but I'm not so sure it can be directed wholey at Parish. We have 2 parasitic american investors trying to jump ship as soon as another team goes up for sale, Textor with his Del boy dealings and a stadium that's forever in hiatus of a rebuild.

Why are Harris and Blitzer deemed to be parasites as without them we would be in The Championship by now.

Why are Textor's dealings "Del Boy?" Just because he doesn't support one club like you do doesn't make him Del Boy and where do you think the money came from to buy in this young talent after Hodgson left if it wasn't from your Del Boy

Positivity is presumably our new strategy - along with crossing fingers and praying. I presume the board are at the forefront of this but the fans can at least join in too.

It's either positivity, blind faith or delusions. Depends on your perspective. Any which way it is my choice.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

My mind says we're going to be lucky to stay up. My heart says anything could happen - most positive I can come up with is, we're not down yet. Obviously results are what's going to matter. I guess at least it's not a boring season. There's always something going on.

Do you think Textor supports the clubs or sees them as investments? I called him Delboy because he seems to have issues with paying players and trying to make strategic guarantees inclusive of Cpfc when buying Lyon. Obviously, that didn't come to fruition, but he did try.

The other two investors seemingly have the funds yet have looked anywhere but at Palace in spending much, as shown by their interests lying towards the talks of takeovers at Man U and Liverpool and them becoming shareholders. They aren't without resources but with all the teams they own, they don't seem to put ftoo much forward.

Mostly was said as tongue in cheek about Textor but I don't feel the 2 Americans have done much. Why are you so defensive of them but against Parish out of curiosity? Seems very odd. (If I've got your names mixed up and you haven't got anything against Parish then apologies, I thought I saw a comment detractors of him in another thread.)

The funding of the club by the shareholders has to be done in proportion to their shareholdings and voting rights and Parish can't afford his share which is what is holding up investment by the others.

Whilst being grateful for Parish for saving the club he isn't the person to take us forward

Also correct. But do you see that never give up attitude in the current crop of players. I could be doing them an injustice but not sure I do.

The whole demograph of the team has changed now , the players will know they will have to perform to instruction or they will be out , the days of 'we must do better 'are over , its now we will do better

And we still need a striker

We need to be as loud as hell against Leicester, not least to drown out their hysterical laughter.

I think a lot of people here need to divorce underlying realities from contemporary situations.

The fact is, common to all of us, we support CPFC. That support is a constant; we don't choose where and when to apply it. It's simply a fact of our lives; part of our identities.

Sometimes, our support is challenged by contemporary events as is happening now. And when that happens, the thing that we support is made to suffer for one reason and another, and it becomes less "attractive" as a result. But it doesn't change anything. If your wife becomes mortally ill, you don't leave her. She's still your wife.

It's absolutely appropriate that we discuss and excoriate the board for bringing the club we love to the situation we now find ourselves in. But we're all still Palace supporters and as such, at 3 pm on a Saturday afternoon, I expect everyone to be 100% behind the team. If you're not - if you're handing in your season tickets - then I'd question whether you're a "real" supporter.

The measure of all of us and what makes CPFC special is how we stand at times like these. Everyone's a supporter when we get to Wembley. That's easy. The real supporters are those who get behind the team at times like today.

That's a really inspiring rallying call Syd, well done you!

Whether or not we'd be in the Championship without them is pure speculation on your part. Either way, they are parasites because they are seeking to increase the value of their investment (which is what every owner should and has a right to do) WITHOUT adequately funding it. If you put money into a business to develop a brighter future then you deserve to reap a profit. If you run the business on the cheap but still hope to profit, then you're a parasite.
