Thank you Croydon-Roy for performing a managerial miracle. And to all the eagles in the squad for being the incarnation of his will.

Looking to throw the topic on here. And let all the HOL-Eagles contribute or bicker , as they prefer.

Personal opinion :

- we gotta keep Roy

- we gotta retire some of our tired, or injury prone, or discredited players.

- we need new question-mark blood. This next week or two gives us a head-start to buy players. Buy players ahead of clubs not yet confirmed in the Prem next August.

- we gotta keep our new rising stars ( difficult to achieve when the big cheque-book clubs are prowling )

The past loyalty we showed to Benteke was a mistake. Need to be more ruthless going forward. No second or third chances given to mediocrity.

I expect Willo still believes we are in a relegation struggle - and in great peril of going down. Hence , this thread is for all the rest of you.

Yes, if Roy wants to stay he should, i think he is licking his lips at the quality he now has, in my opinion, do not keep Wilf, let him go, keep all top players, try to slowly introduce some younger players to the squad, Rak-Sakyi, Phillips and O´Brien may be ready, under no circumstances buy Gallagher, unless Eze leaves, a RB and a CF and a Wilf replacement are the key buys for me, Ward a one year extension, Wilf, McArthur, Tomkins, Clyne and Luka to leave, see if we can offload Jairo and one of the two strikers,
about 400/500k a week available next year.

Agree with you there Lanzo. My first priority would be to check out the on loan players that are getting great reviews from the loan club and see if they are up to it not just physically but mentally, then see where we stand and see what sort of a budget we have . I agree not to keep Wilf and as much as i love him his wages are too high and he is picking up injuries now. We got very lucky with Bolassie and we seem to play better without him , though we have only played very poor teams . Also the players you mentioned need to leave to make room for new blood. Gallagher is over priced now at 40 mill so no way , could get a half decent striker for that maybe Ollie Watkins, i also like Dewsbury Hall from leicester.

Agreed , the last stint with Roy he was deemed as “too defensive etc” but that was because we didn’t have the flare we have now , he defo needs one more year , you can tell he’s loving this

Can’t see Eze leaving ….. however he needs to calm down a bit since we are safe , no more goals from him please or the big guns will come prowling

The Big guns are already prowling around Olise amd I suspect Eze too. No doubt their agents will be whispering in their ears about the riches that await them if/when they leave Palace.

EVERY club, below the last eight of the Champions League, is a selling club. Its just part and parcel of this game.

I would love us to keep Eze , but offer me Ronaldo type money and I will smile and sign the paperwork.

Likewise, I hate us paying big money to donkeys. Donkeys who are permanently expected to put in a good display sometime in the near future. Including squad members who never get a game, fellas who walk when they should run, or yellow card specialists.

Agree with these 3. They appear the most ready for a 1st team squad position - Phillips and O'Brien can replace say Tomkins and Jimmy Mac in the squad as both will definitely be leaving and have barely kicked a ball this season.

Totally agree that we need to release some deadwood, but I have a problem with letting Jimmy Mac go.
He’s not got a lot left in him as a first teamer these days but,
A/ he’s not let us down when he’s come on lately. He’s still a strong squad member.
B/ I understand he is immense in the background. Players young and old look up to him. For this reason he’s well worth keeping with maybe a view to a coaching/managerial future.

I do hope our planning was a little earlier than this, but with us you never know. New director of football first please.

We need a lb and rb, Mitchell should be a squad player and ward and Clyne shouldn't be anywhere near a starting line up.

It would be madness to not have Roy and Ray around in a significant capacity next year.

Parish screwed this up once, surely not again
