Thanks for the chuckle.

Unfortunately and by no means correctly that is how I see it all these days.

The parties only ever serve as vehicles for the individuals within them to self serve. Much as I would actively oppose a lot of what Corbyn stood for at least it was for something ideological.

The conservatives seek to conserve only themselves and Labour look forever conflicted as to how to position and characterise themselves for gaining mass support. There is no real ideological driver there just only ever a few remnants.

I would actually welcome a host of independent candidates these days as opposed to one belonging to red or blue, not that I foresee how that would work in practice. Perhaps one who stands for red and blue? Are there parallels between Trump's proposed 'wall' and Parish's new stadium? Does Pete the Eagle have any political aspirations? Is Speroni looking to move on from the sporting and culinary world? So many possibilities...

I'd vote for a victory tomorrow.....four more points and we should be safe.

He's trying to do a Blair like re-alignment of the Labour party. Essentially remake it to be more acceptable to the establishment....eg the financial markets and potential big donors.

Obviously it's much more socially radical than Blair was, but not on those topics that power money doesn't like.

Just another bought and sold party that is a disfigurement of the people it's meant to represent.

Labour can only win when they grab the middle ground.

My concern is that their perceived new image is only skin deep.

They will be a disaster as usual.

They are fortunate that they have so many friends in low places.

I wager the SNP doing a Sunak will help them considerably in terms of seats......it would be a somewhat paradoxical slice of irony really if they gain power through the rejection of an elected foreign chancer....when they are fully committed to them.

Going to put this out there. And I fully accept any and every accusation of being a silver foil hat-wearing nut-job.

This stinks of a stitch-up. Did she author this letter? 100%. Is she a mentally ill lady? 100%. Does Starmer and co want her put in a box before the next election campaign gets underway.100%³

Her excuse was that this was a draft of a letter. Was never meant to be sent. And maybe she is right. The Observer is full-on Blairite.

I would not put it past Starmer and his little coterie of Blairite scum to have had her computer hacked. Just waiting for something, anything, to pop up on it and then send it out to a paper more than willing to print it.

Call me a whack job, call me anything, and truth be told, in this instance, it is hard to deny it because I can offer no evidence. Other than a gut feeling. And that rarely lets me down when it comes to this kind of crap. Egotistical BS on my part? Possibly.

But Starmer is the most toxic, stab-in-the-back politician of the modern age. And that takes some doing.

Edited by Matov (24 Apr 2023 9.27pm)

Then why even write it? Even if it was simply a 'getting things off my chest' type work, surely it would have been deleted once it had done it's job.

Also, how would Starmer's gang know when to hack to get something like this - unless they did it every day, which would seem a bit of a time-consuming practice for very little reward.

Matov, you are indeed a whacko.

I say this because I want to leave a stain on your character so that next time you post it will be easier to write off your words. And eventually take full control of the narrative on the HOL.

As we speak I am looking at you through your camera. And also listening to your heart beat through those nanobots we planted in your vaccinations.

Matov might be a whacko, but equally , the scary thing is, that doesn't necessarily make him wrong.

I think, personally, Abbott flings far too shlt bombs around, for one to inevitably find its way home. It didn't need a major IT operation.

The whacko bit I am more than happy to accept.

But people take control of other peoples computers, without their permission, every single day. On an hourly, possibly minute by minute basis. Zero conspiracy theory in that.

And in Abbot's case, a mentally ill lady? In fact, I would aruge the odds for somebody haven taking control of her computer for all kinds of reasons are far far higher than them not.

*Doh! I meant lower. Mea cupla (and no cowardly edit)!

Is she not saying that she herself sent the "draft " to the Observer, there is no accusation of hacking I have seen.

The Observer would not have published without confirming with her anyway so the excuse is hollow.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

As the election draws closer the same old Labour party issue of funding will be front and centre. At the height of Corbyn mania the membership went up to around 400K at which point funding from unions represented 33% of revenue. Membership now 260K and some major union donors have already given notice of reduced funding.

Fun fact, Labour spent more in the last election than the conservatives mainly due to expensive poster/billboard campaign.
