Lot of counting to do but this could be a repeat of 1995 before the Blair landslide election. Spectacular gains by the LibDems. Despite the rules 'being applied in a partisan manner' (electoral reform society). Looks like we have had enough of them.

I didn't vote at all in these elections but there is no way that I wouldn't vote in an election that really mattered

People vote again governments in local elections which is a pity. It has always seem stupid to me that somebody would vote against their local council just because they hate the government. Judge the council not the government.

The Electoral Commission says there were no major problems with voter id although they will do a full review. Gotta luv the BBC though 1. Bloke forgets his passport outraged he couldn't vote. Err polling stations are local and should be within walking distance could you not go home and get it. Yes I know it's annoying but sometimes we forget things and have to go back. 2. Bloke was upset as he couldn't use his NHS id badge. I've got a Tufty Club membership badge can I use that?

and Wales ,there was just a Tory MP on Sky News who said Labour only had a 9% lead in this polls compared with the opinion poll lead but he hadn't taken into account those three areas not voting

I worked in a polling station yesterday. One bloke said he knew nothing about the need for ID. We pointed out the banner notice, in big bold type, across the top of his polling card that said "You need to bring photographic ID in order to vote". Then a woman came in without ID. She said she knew it was required, but she thought as she was passing that she would "chance her arm". The LibDem leaflet in my ward said that the ID requirement was an attempt by the government to prevent poor people from voting. I mean; really. Grow up!

But it is, not that it is making any difference. If you are a young person less likely to vote conservative and turn up with photo id such a rail or NHS card, you cannot vote. If you are 60+ typical tory voter, with your oyster card etc. you can. We'll see how many were turned away in due course, despite being registered to vote. The number of people rejected will be far higher than the actual instances of voter fraud, only 9 since 2018. There never was a problem, and who is to say photo-id fraud cannot happen anyway.

Early take.... BAD for the Tories. Good for Labour but potentially could have been better although they have taken some key councils. Very good for the Lib Dems. Greens with a good showing as well.
For Labour...the Brexit question will raise its head. The question is can Labour appear resolute enough about not going straight into rejoin mode whilst still being able to wink at the Remoaner Retards to let them know that this exactly what they are going to do.

Well there were adverts on tv and radio for 6 months. Free voting ID was offered. All you needed was a photo and probably a digital one on a smart phone. Any one who doesn’t have a smart phone is old so will have photo ID. Anyhow now the left have won an extra 38 councils the 15 minute cities will be springing up everywhere. Goner be shops going broke everywhere but never mind at least we saved a dolphin !
