I believe that thus far the Riverside Stand project at Fulham has cost £120 Mill and this could rise with inflation.My understanding is that it will be fully functional from next season.

The Riverside Stand season ticket pricing for next season - From £1250 to £3,000 but there are concessions for those aged 65+ and for juniors. Fulham have announced an 18 % ticket price rise on adult season ticket renewals for next season. Edited by Willo (07 May 2023 11.36pm)

I'm sorry but I was responding to the assertion that there "will be a general increase in ticket prices". It couldn't be clearer what the poster meant by that.

But all things are not equal as the new stand does not some at a cost base equivalent to existing seats. It has to be bought and paid for with the additional costs of offices and new facilities. It's a bit like when they refurbished a local pub. Cost a fortune, looked pretty much the same but upper the prices (with a £6.30 pint in an Orpington pub!)

Are you agreeing that ALL ticket prices inevitably WILL go up when the extra seats become available - as the guy asserted? I don't think your pub analogy is quite the right one. If my pub took the piss in that way, I would go to another pub or get my alcohol elsewhere than a pub. That is how supply and demand works; as the price for goods and services goes up, the no of people prepared to pay that price diminishes. The pub then has to decide whether it can exist on fewer customers or whether it needs to review and reduce what it charges. If a football club drastically increases its prices, by the same logic demand will fall.

People will pay what they can for seats in a PL stadium - supply & demand, local market forces etc - I notice a couple of posters have reference the Fulham price increases on their new Riverside stand & smaller increases in other parts of the stadium - Whilst inevitably some of those increases are to offset the construction costs my guess would be that the Fulham owners are thinking that, they are in a fashionable part of West London, with plenty of money in that area - certainly more affluent than in SE25 - & they have some thoughts on what the competitors charge / availability of seats at say Chelsea (CFC - Season ticket pricing & waiting lists) If you live up in Fulham & you want to watch high level football your choices are pretty much, Fulham, Chelsea or QPR. If you had kids (next gen football supporters) & the prospect of getting a Chelsea season ticket was so daunting maybe Fulham isnt such a poor choice -

At least with the delays in starting work on a new stand the current Main Stand will be around next year for us to celebrate its 100th birthday. And to think, it was only 40 years old when I first sat in it.
