The Portsmouth v Southampton rivalry is more deep rooted than football and goes back to the dockers strikes. People in Portsmouth are told the Southampton dockers crossed the picket line and so are called scummers for that reason. I drank in a pub where some of the old men would barely speak until the subject of Southampton came up and then their faces would screw up and they'd spit 'F^cking Scummers.'

After this weekends results its now far more likely that Leeds and Leicester will be joining Saints in the Championship.

Forest may already have enough points to stay up.

Leicester and Leeds have both been awful this season so I’d hold no sympathy for them.

In more Palace related news, I notice Chelsea have both Manchesters and Newcastle left to play. Very possibly 3 defeats there. I would love that alone of course but that would also require only a single point from us to finish above them and that would be priceless for me, I’ll frame the table and hang it on the wall in my house.

West ham played a weakened side against V Brentford. I was told before hand that this would be the case so I lumped on. They are saving the players for Thursday and then they are targeting Leeds for the points they need. I fully expect them to play another weakened side V Leicester if they qualify for the final as well.

They only need a draw V leeds but they are awful so I expect a west ham win.

Leeds will then have to beat spurs to stay up if Forest lose at home to a demoralised arsenal who know they have blown it. And then lose to us. I expect forest to beat or draw with arsenal. Had the arse beaten brighton then they would be nailed on but now they wont be able to see the goal though their tears!

Everton will win at wolves and then beat bournemouth. So unless leicester get something at newcastle they will already be toast before they play west ham.

Well Forest's win has saved them but put other games into a spin. With Everton Scrapping a last minute draw that would seem a good result.

But forest's win also means that West ham are safe.

So will west ham now play a weakened side V leeds with the ECL final coming up? Will they be up for it if Leeds become dirty leeds.

If Leeds do win then they go into the final game in pole position with bottlers spurs at home to play.

With Liverpool drawing at home to AV newcastle need just a point a point for champions league football. Leicester need at least a point to stay alive but even a win may not be enough. However, newcastle are not the kind of team to relax and they will want 3rd place.

imo if leeds and leicester fail to win they will both be down. If leeds win they are in pole position to stay up, even if leicester win as well.

If leicester win and leeds fail too then they will be in pole position to stay up on GD!!!!

It must be remembered that both leeds and leicester are s***e!!!!
