Wright hadn’t even reached his prime when he left us, as his subsequent form and performances for Arsenal demonstrated.

Zaha is much older, well past his prime and now seems to be increasingly injury prone.

But he lifts the fans. Zaha still has it and deserves it imo.

Wright left us and even kissed the Arsenal badge, he will never be a Palace legend, Zaha on the other hand is.

We also cant underestimate what Wilf does off the pitch. He is the face of Crystal palace.
He does so much for the community. He does soccer schools for kids in the summer as an example. I am sure he is an inspiration for our academy players as well.

with olise and eze flourishing now and they stay next season. Wilf as a striker and less man marked he could potentially have a high scoring season.

I'm certainly not against your suggestion of Wilf as a striker but nor would I support it vigorously.

Completely agree with first highlighted statement however and Wilf's earnt salary may revolve equally around his presence as what he brings individually to games. It might be underestimated just what a chasm may remain if/when he does finally leave, what impact that will have on the club and on our other players.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think the hammering of Leeds was without him. Let's see how we do in the last 2 games also without him.

BTW ambivalent about him going. Alongside Lombardo the best player I have ever seen in a palace shirt. However does he unbalance the team?

Is very much the other side of the argument ST!

Either way we will find out however the positive is we may become Crystal Palace again as opposed to Wilf + others with the negative being we may just become Crystal Palace again

IMO for the record both Ian and Wilf are Palace players of renown along with Dougie, Jonny Byne and the other greats. The Greatest Player in my life time to Play for Palace is our Wilf Its unlikely are stay in loadsofmoney league would have happened without him and the board.

He has had an excellent injury record, however, 3 times in the last few months he has had muscle injuries and left the pitch during games. His body has hit his 'wall' after 15 odd years. This is the reality. His injury record will only get worse.

You really don’t understand the human body. He has been managing a hamstring injury . That is all. Good grief the comments here sometimes.

Happy happy JOY, JOY!

He also tried to take an attacking quick throw-in at Highbury after a Palace player had put the ball out with a Gooner lying on the ground injured. (1994, Arsenal 1 Palace 2).

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Neither do you.

You can't manage hamstring injuries while playing at this level.

Injuries are part of the game and I expect he rushed back hoping to look good against these weaker teams to attract other clubs.

Notice how he started to get injuries when Roy came in and made players do some proper training (Wilf was one of the first to be gassed and needing to rest in that first training session for Roy)

We definitely have space for him. We need at least 5 attackers for those 3 fluid support roles. If he stays, over the coming years he'll need to get used to evolving into a rotated player. But to be fair, he'd be a great impact sub.

Ridiculous, truly ridiculous if true.
He's a spent force. Been brilliant for us in the past, but not the future. And still struggles to put the team above himself.

Nothing anyone says will convince me otherwise.

no, get your facts straight. Hamstring injury in Jan, GROIN injury in April and now another hamstring injury in May.

I've 'done' my hamstring many times. You can't run with this injury and it certainly can't be managed. If he came back too early it would have gone again immediately. There was a reasonable gap between the 2 issues.

I'll add to that that possibly his warm up needs to improve
