Josh Smith was refereeing his first PL game, the referee originally allocated was Andy Madley.Josh Smith was due to referee the Barnsley v Bolton game on Friday but he was deallocated owing to his assignment to the game yesterday and Barnsley v Bolton was refereed by Michael Salisbury. Willian ignored the mark the referee made for his free kick that led to Fulham’s second goal (I was standing very close, and loads of fans were protesting about this to the line official); he moved the ball at least two feet forwards of it towards the gaol. Given the fuss about positioning balls for corners etc., what are the rules about this sort of thing? Could Willian have been made to re-take it?

Two main things to take from the match, 1) Edouard can’t pass the ball at all, it is embarrassing for a player playing at this level. 2) Mitchell is a liability defensively. He got way too close to the attacker allowing him to win a soft penalty. He then unnecessarily gave away the free kick that Mitrovic headed in from. I’ve lost count of the number of goals scored against us that he has either been directly or indirectly involved in. We desperately need competition for left back. 2-2 a decent result though all things considered. Edouard can't dribble either, yesterday and last week he had the ball in a decent area and his touch just gave it away,

With our lack of marking it matters little where he took it from.
