However you try and play with the numbers, the current state of public services and housing does not make such large numbers feasible. The minimum wage for a legal working immigrant is below 30K, that will not generate sufficient tax to pay for potential cost of public services to be used and benefits that they will be eligible for. Simple terms, these new immigrants will be net takers from the system when taxes are at an all time high and the interest on the national debt is billions every month. The country may well have passed a tipping point and whoever is in power cannot fix the problem. Grim
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

The new number, 600,000, to avoid confusion, is not related to the number of posts on the same subject made by the OP. The forecast of approaching 1 million, does.

Even Labour, the party who were mostly responsible for the huge numbers of migrants, are now running with the idea that we have far too many arriving. Of course, that will all change if they get in power, but it does demonstrate they even they realise that the vast majority of people have had enough of seeing their towns overtaken and that only the London Liberal elite and a few loons in Cornwall think that everything is fine. We have to hand it to Labour. They have audacity. Only the modern Labour Party could claim that they care about issues around mass immigration. The good news is that the Tories now have to demonstrate that they are doing something about it and quick, or they are toast for sure.

But people objecting to immigration figures are 'racists', Remember? The Labour Party are racists. The Tories are racists. Everybody is racist. How dare they not want the whole country to collapse under the weight of migrants. What is an English Town if it isn't a hang out for unemployed Albanians and a no go zone for English people? Be reasonable. Those people need our benefit system.

Great, except it was Tony Blair who opened the gates in the first place. What matters now is making who ever is in power actually act to end this madness instead of just worrying about votes and a new well paid job after they lose their seat. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (25 May 2023 2.02pm)
