Striker James Vaughan should be fit for Crystal Palace's crunch match with Doncaster.
The on-loan Everton star feared his season was over after he injured his ankle during Saturday's disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Scunthorpe.
Vaughan endured a frustrating afternoon and had to be pulled away from clashing with several Iron players at the full-time whistle. He broke a bone in his hand by punching a wall in the dressing room afterwards.
But Palace manager Dougie Freedman was boosted by the news that Vaughan is ready to feature in Palace's second successive relegation 'six-pointer' on Friday after both injuries were not as bad as first thought.
"James injured his hand and his ankle but I have been given the good news he should be fit to play on Friday," he said.
"He just twisted his ankle and will try and train tomorrow and we will see where he is but it is good news for us.
"Out of frustration afterwards he punched a wall and he let himself down a little bit but it won't stop him playing."
