Crystal Palace crashed out of the Capital One Cup, losing 5-1 against Manchester City.

Alan Pardew opted for a number of changes to the starting lineup that lost 1-0 Leicester City at the weekend, with Mile Jedinak, Joe Ledley and Jordon Mutch getting starting places in midfield, and Patrick Bamford getting the nod over Dwight Gayle up front.

Palace were woeful, and were 2-0 down at half time with a header from Wilfried Bony and tap in for Kevin De Bruyne separating the sides.

In the second half, Kelechi Iheanacho, who got the winner for City in the Premier League tie back in September, extended City's lead with a neat finish in the box.

City grabbed a fourth from the spot after Damien Delaney bundled Eliaquim Mangala to the floor. Yaya Toure stepped up and stroked the ball home past Wayne Hennessey.

Delaney clawed a goal back for the Eagles a minute before the end with a header from a Yannick Bolasie cross, but City completed the rout in injury time through Garcia Alonso.

All in all a very disappointing performance by Palace, with only Wilfried Zaha coming out of the game with any credit.
