A new season under a new manager is almost underway.

Frank de Boer will be putting his 3-4-3 formation under the spotlight when his team steps out at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

His signings during the summer have been brought in with the new system in mind, and only time will tell as to whether he's able to turn Palace into a more possession based team.

There's a healthy competition for places in midfield, but the Eagles have limited options in attack, with Connor Wickham still out.

De Boer knows he needs to strengthen in the offensive positions, as well as purchasing another goalkeeper, now that Steve Mandanda has left the club.

Jairo Riedewald should make his Premier League debut in a back 3 which could also feature new signing Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

Yohan Cabaye, James McArthur, and Pape Souare have been training since recovering from injury, but the game comes too soon for them to feature.

Bakary Sako is out injured, and long term casualty Connor Wickham won't be fit until the new year.

Huddersfield's new signings Steve Mounie and former Eagle Tom Ince are among nine summer recruits hoping to play.

Jonathan Hogg and Nahki Wells are out with ankle problems, but captain Tommy Smith should be fit after suffering with a foot injury.
