Team news

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson will check on the fitness of Scott Dann, Jeffrey Schlupp, Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic after the quartet didn't train on Thursday.

Lee Chung-yong (leg) and Connor Wickham (knee) are both still on the sidelines.

West Brom's Chris Brunt (calf) is looking for a return to the line-up, having been out since September. Matt Phillips and Keiran Gibbs (both hamstring) are doubts, while Craig Dawson, Nacer Chadli and James Morrison are out injured.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Well we got our first clean sheet so that's one step, once again. Although every statistic thrown at me know includes those first seven games I tend to be thinking more about the last seven games where I think I can identify more with that the team is trying to do.

"We haven't scored a goal in the three games we played there but it was Newcastle, it was Tottenham and now Brighton, we know that away goals are hard to come by.

"What would it mean to score and win? It would mean an awful lot because we are working very hard to try and retrieve the situation we have created for ourselves and to get ourselves higher up the table.

"Victory against a team which is also at the moment suffering fro the spectre of relegation would be an enormous boost for us but we know it won’t be easy, no trip to the Hawthorns has ever been easy, at least not in recent years. If we do anything up there it will be because we play well."

Alan Pardew

"I know their manager very well. He is doing a good job and they are in the best place they’ve been all season. It’s a group of players I know very well and a lot of people I love in the dressing room. It will be different for me personally but it’s not about me, it’s about West Brom and I’ll do everything I can to win this game.

"I was disappointed to lose my job at Palace, I really was. Although we were on a difficult run, we had finished 10th and we had got to a cup final. I felt I deserved more time but I didn’t get it. But whatever age you are, you must try and better yourself and learn from your mistakes,

"I’m not going to sit here and say I haven’t made mistakes. I have. And I like to think that I’ve learned from those."
