Andros Townsend reckons his cracking goals against West Bromwich Albion will inspire him to go on a scoring spree.
Townsend notched his first-ever brace in Palace's 3-0 Carabao Cup win at the Baggies with one of his dazzling efforts a contender for goal of the competition.
For his first goal, the winger ran from inside his own half and unleashed a rocket shot beyond Boaz Myhill from 30 yards.
The second killed off the game for the Eagles with another powerful strike – this time from his right foot – from inside the area after slinking past two defenders.
"It was good to get on the scoresheet," said Townsend. "It has been a long time coming. Hopefully I can put away a few more chances in the coming weeks.
"The first one was similar to the one against Liverpool when I came inside and it hit the bar. This one dipped a bit more. Hopefully it gives me a bit more confidence when shooting in the future."
Manager Roy Hodgson also hopes the 27-year-old can hit the goal trail, especially as his side have been lacking on that front this season.
He said: "There have been times in the last year when [Townsend] has got into that position [for the first goal] but he has not quite found the net.
"It was delightful that he did against West Brom and I am hoping now he has found his range and when he cuts inside he will be producing a few more of those, because he has that in his locker."
