Taking we lose v Manchester City - Wolves just need a draw v Newcastle or Nottm F need a win v Spurs (forget about GD) or Leicester need a win v Chelsea (h) to overtake us.

Could we by 'hook or by crook' still be 12th again after this weekend?

I honestly wouldn't put it past us to win against city this weekend

After all this hostility and negativity I think you could be right

Whatever you think about Vieira and the team it is pretty bonkers that we basically haven't changed position for months despite not winning a game in 2023. That probably tells you a lot about how everyone else below us is doing. Although I'm still confident we'll stay up the one worry for me is that we sleep walk into a relegation scrap when everyone below us already knows they're in one.

4 defeats in a row, culminating in a home defeat by Leicester will send us 17th, and change of manager, its written in the stars

Good sum-up and pretty much how I have been looking at the league table although with a little fretfulness,

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Yep in reality we had a bit of a buffer, and whilst we havent been winning 5 draws out of the last 7 has been enough to keep us moving forward.

The draws have been vitally important, another one this weekend will be nice

I still maintain a Christian Benteke volley in the dying minutes at the AMEX ranks above that in terms of unexpected miracles.

As for this thread, I anticipate the story of this weekend being my departure from Selhurst Park thinking 'I knew it was going to pan out as such however you never know', getting home somewhat deflated, then thinking 'stone me, we're still 12th' upon checking in on table.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Excuse me, just recovering from a bout of choking ....

We will lose principally because the manager will put out one of the biggest stone-wall defensive line-ups since the days of Roy.

Understandable but, like everything he does, pessimistically reactive.

The team is obviously in the dumps and PV's kid-glove tactics won't help to stir them.
