He's not been on the bench last few games and not seen anything about injuries.

Any ideas?

Now full squad getting back to full fitness perhaps cant justify his place on it!

I suspect he doesn't have the athleticism for our new style.

And we have quite a few CM's on the bench without him

Still and all Mateta on the bench ahead of him must be a bit of a downer!

Good point, I had pretty much forgotten about him. And I suspect may as well do so from now on. PV is proving a different judge of performance than Roy.

It's weird because I thought h might do better under Vieira.

I think fitness might be an issue. He looks a tad heavy.

Yes i agree with you there , he looks heavy its hard to say if its muscle or fat and i think that has taken a bit of speed along with it .

I was thinking he would be center back cover in our current system - probably between him and Tomkins. Not pressing enough for our midfield.

I think PV is looking to build a team that passes and moves quickly. I don't see Jairo fitting into that unless he reinvents himself as a full back.

He might be better off in a European league where pace is not a major requirement.

My take on it is just that, after having time to assess the entire squad, PV has concluded that Jairo doesn't meet his expectations for first team selection.

Nothing more complicated or mysterious than that.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

He was bought to the club by de Boer who had a passing philosophy.

He looks like a decent player, but it was noticeable a couple of times last season that we conceded goals when he came on.

Maybe he is just no good tactically, or as you suggest, just lacks the fitness to get around the field enough to play at a sustained pace.

And given preference is given to those of appropriate age to U23 (eg Tomkins and Clyne get run outs) PV isn't even trying to keep him keen or in the loop.

He is very out of favour.

Either he is being tasked to reinvent or he will be held as a squad player in the event of injuries or he could be off the wage bill sooner than we think.
