I posted on another thread that he has refused to play for Charlton and so is running down his contract. The Charlton fans rate him but assumed he was going to another Championship club as he is 30 this will be his last big move. As long as he does not want too much money I think this could be a shrewd move he will only be a backup striker well we don't have many of them at the moment.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Edited by Willo (02 Jun 2020 5.15pm) Glenn Murray was 30 years old and had no experience of top-flight football in England when he first played in the PL (February 2014). Just saying. I don't know much about this lad tbh, but a free transfer and good form for the last two years. I could see this happening.

If he comes on a free and we're sensible with the wages, I don't see the issue. My bigger worry is that this would be the peak of our ambition, and so we wouldn't sign any other forwards, despite the fact that we clearly need some.

I have been in conversation with a gentleman this morning apropos Lyle Taylor. He informs me that the player almost quit football as he wasn't totally convinced that the game was for him, but then he transferred to Falkirk and scored 29 goals for them.

That's a fact irrespective of the fact he had a great season prior to promotion (remember he only scored 6 goals the previous season though). Looking at Wiki, Taylor also has a record of a goal every two games this season and in a team battling relegation. Pretty impressive. Again, I have never seen him play so don't know much about him, but I wouldn't say no just because he has never played in the PL.

Apropos Lyle Taylor, I have seen him play 'Live' and the wonders of modern technology have enabled me to view video footage of some of his performances.Right-footed,works hard for the team, good movement and takes free kicks when a 'Wall' is formed.

Think we can do better, if he was 25 maybe take a punt but it is a no from me. Just seen that we are allegedly in talks with Reading’s Danny Loader who is only 19. I know nothing about him but age wise surely a better use of finances. Any thoughts? Edited by Spiderman (03 Jun 2020 10.20am)
