That'll solve the nation's drug problem.

What is the betting that a 're-development' of the site is pending.

Indeed.

People taking drugs on a night out, whatever next?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Meanwhile Friday night Reading high street is full of drunk people battering the sh*t out of other people and ending up in casualty or worse.

Haven't been for years but was a great venue in the early noughties.

Another bit of my youth dies....

Great club, especially 'back in the day', but the door staff and security were totally complicit in the confiscation and resale of drugs

The committee chair at the hearing asked if lowering the bpm of the music would help. Perhaps country dancing is the answer

After Crystal Palace, electronic music is for sure my biggest passion in life.

For those that are into "the scene" it's a terrible loss for Londons nightlife scene; the club was recognised world wide by all the DJs in the underground circuit.

I had some good nights there but the queues were awful and the bouncers were utter scum, having on occasions dragged mates in to the lift for a roughing up and once removing my mate's willy from his trousers while in the middle of the queue as part of the search.

Personal experiences aside, for young tourists it was a greater attraction than Buckingham Palace and clearly there's no legitimacy behind the reasons for closure.

Terms such as 'cash strapped council' are thrown about loosely and invariable see the blame passed to the Tories but let's be honest, they're not that skint with massive warchests invested in the markets, and there's a big difference between selling off disused property and yielding to business interests.

Depressing how many clubs and venues have been forced shut due to property developers building more luxury apartments or politicians' vanity projects.

Trying to get a drink after midnight in central London and the city is a nightmare now. Ridiculous for supposedly one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

Agree but worth noting that there are new ones as well if it's any consolation. There's several which have closed I won't get nostalgic about. TBH whenever there's a night someone mentions to me these days I've never heard of the club.

Probably on to something with these former clubs all being central though if everything is in Shoreditch now.

Never really my kind of club - I always preferred it a bit less 'smart casual' but I suspect there is a correlation between clubs closing and an increasing incidence of illegal parties.
