Christian Benteke - Liverpool will not accept anything less than the £32.5m they paid Aston Villa last summer. We understand Liverpool feel they are in a strong position given Benteke has four years left on his contract and also given the fees other strikers have commanded in this window.

Yep. Deals can be struck with agents before actual bids put in to the club. Weren't we quoted as having done so with him? I seem to recall Sullivan at WHUFC banging on about the 'ridiculous' package we'd offered him. Edited by Nobbybm (08 Aug 2016 5.30pm)

it a joke that Liverpool think he is worth the same amount as they paid a year ago, when it ONE whole year he has done f*** all. Scored hardly any goals, played hardly any matched and probably not developed much at all due to sitting on the bench most of the season. IMO this means your value drops. I hope palace is arguing this case in negotiations.

They dont have to sell, so they can hold out for what they feel is the right value for the player, that coupled with the face everyone needs a decent striker and the stupid amounts of cash sloshing about now.
