Johnny Byrne and John Jackson. If you were lucky enough (and as old as me) to see them play you'd understand why ...

John Macken we would need a lot of bronze for that one. Seriously though, I don't think we're quite at the level where we need to immortalise people associated with the club in statues. Now i think about it I'd love to see a statue of Sido in his pomp. A true Palace legend. Ok I'm on board. Let's start a petition.

Won't a protest group who don't like the way history is recorded just come along and arbitrarily chuck the statues in a river anyway?

If anyone connected with Palace is to be considered for having a statue made in their honour, then one candidate has to be Geoff Thomas. Not just because he captained the club to promotion, an FA Cup final and a third-place finish, earning international recognition along the way, but for all he has endured and gone on to achieve since his playing career ended. An inspirational figure to all, whether they support the club or not. If not a statue though, I quite like the hologram idea. Very 21st century!

We should have a statue of Simon Jordan with a second statue of Tara Stout about 50 yards behind it.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |
