Good shout on the We Are Palace web site. 19-yr old Franco Umeh to cover for Michael Olise. Watched a few of the junior games on Palace TV and he has been mustard pretty much every time. Top 6 teams introducing teenagers this season, would be good to give him a go. Minimal risk of messing things up as a winger. Also worked out well when we were a bit stretched with Wan Bissaka - who we nearly offloaded for next to nothing to Colchester before playing him.

Not really Roy's bag of course, but hopefully he will be gone within the week.

Also Franca in the 10 role for Eze. Nobody expecting anything from the Chelsea game, so a free hit. If not, we will end up with Schlupp, Ayew and Mateta up front for the Burnley game, and unfortunately we need something more than 0-0 in that one.

Not really on the same page any more, are you?

Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers

Long since left Roy’s page. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome, not the brightest approach I am sad to say.

I was thinking this the other day. With all the injuries he's pretty much the only other winger we have available what with Ebiowei also away on loan. He's looked good everytime I've seen him in the U21s but it's a huge step up of course. However pace can scare defenders at any level.

We are all desperate for a bit of positivity to emerge from what feels like a desperate patch for the club.

At least it'd have a certain charm to have Franco and Franca in the attack... just hopefully doesn't end up going a bit Frank Spencer.

We have become so disjointed.
Loads of fans yearning for some hope value.
An academy stuffed full of potential who every time I watch a highlight I see some speedy talented youngsters.
Yet we have appointed a manager who is so stuck in his tracks that he won't go anywhere near them
Madness, especially when the current injury crisis is forcing the manager to scrape the barrel of our ageing also rans. (Actually, it doesn't even need the injury crisis for him to do that)
Parish needs to grasp the nettle (which if you grab it hard enough doesn't sting) and ensure that some of this talent replaces our downed super stars.

Lined up to be the next manager. All is well.

Playing in an U21 game is worlds away from playing in the Premier league. Why the hell do you think that having a good game in a youth game, means you can walk into the first team.

Agree, however, there are always the odd exception.

I remember Leon McKenzie making his 1st team debut (scored and got MoM) without having played a reserve game. Came in straight from the youth set up.
If the lad has pace, a place on the bench and maybe a 20 minute cameo is definitely worth considering.

Reading the comments I don't think anyone's suggesting he'll walk into the team... just in the absence of Olise, Eze, Rak-Sakyi and Ebiowei there's literally no other wingers left so therefore may be worth an opportunity. What's the worst that could happen? We lose...well we can also do that with Schlupp there so we may as well learn something about our other options.

I'm all for giving young players 10 mins here and there to build up their exposure to first team development. In this drab spell seeing Ozoh get frequent minutes has been at least a positive experience. I understand it's probably not the answer but nor is what we're doing at the moment.
