I saw Mick Hill several times in the 70s without noticing, I just thought Dave Swindlehurst was having a bad game, but they had the 70s/80s 'revisited' football on the other Saturday morning - northern show with Elton Welsby, Everton v Birmingham, whose striker was one Tony Evans - long haired, moustachioed and utterly transparent, a non-scoring striker who slid down to our level in the Mullery/early Coppell era - I had completely forgotten about him, Terry Mahoney, Kevin Taylor somehow remain in the long term memory, but Tony Evans would have been totally forgotten had I not once again chanced upon his mediocrity the other Saturday morning. If you have similar examples of complete blandness I would be interested in your observations.
