Surely only bad can come of this

I'll be surprised if the British Board of Boxing allow it tbh

Just don't give him a boxing licence, simple as that.

Just surprised?

Frank is still ripped but that don't mean s***.

A 55 year old with a history of mental problems and you would just be surprised?

It would be a disgrace to the sport. If he want to be in boxing then he should be a trainer.

Bruno has been sparring recently with Ricky Hatton doing some training. He is ripped like no other heavy weight boxer with not an ounce of fat on him. He is addicted to fitness training and spends hours doing sit ups and press ups. No way in the World should he be allowed back in the ring with his mental issues.

Does anyone know what Paddy McGuiness thinks about it?

Edit. Don’t worry I’ve read the BBC news story now.

I'm glad they consulted the Twitter accounts of some relevant celebs too.

I'm not sure what to think about a subject until I hear what Paddy McGuinness has to say.

I don't think the mental health problems are an issue per se, but there is something questionable maybe about a 55 year old taking up professional boxing after so long out of the sport.

So sad when this happens. I dare say that it is the usual story of hangers on wanting a quick buck out of him.

It could do Jamie. What about if he suddenly believed he was Lord Nelson at the start of round 3?

Disastrous. No right hook.

I think the mental health issues are more worrying than someone's age.

He's physically as fit as opponents much younger than him, but if you don't know when to stop getting punched in the head then it's gonna do even more damage.

Reminds me of the joke about Bruno bringing out his own Toaster to combat the Foreman Grill but it packed up after a couple of rounds.

Not doing a Willo, but I met Frank at a sporting dinner in Bristol and got a signed photo off him... it was pre-signed (probably by his manager) as I'm not sure he can write that well.

All he had to say for himself was "Heehee... yeah... nice one!"

He's got huge hands!

how can you say that? By looking at pictures of him carrying little fat? Unless you mean the dregs of the boxing world. Yes he's lean and fit for a former sportsman of his age but the strength, speed, timing and endurance of a 50-odd-year-old are going to be far inferior to men in their prime in the boxing game. Let alone his major organs.

Like someone else said by all means stay close to boxing - training, coaching, whatever - but the sport needs to have a long look at itself if they issue a license as it might be as good as signing a death warrant.

Bruno needs a few sessions on the Dr's couch to figure out what he is trying to achieve by all this, and then help finding another route to answering the question.
