No top player gives a crap about league football outside Europe. It's why even Brazilians come here in droves. Winning anything in Asia is tin pot and Wilf knows this, Ronaldo knew it. The things is, the latter had already won all the major trophies in Europe. If Wilf goes there it is an admission that no top club wanted him at this stage of his career.

There are a load of European clubs out there playing good football, none are guaranteed to lift a trophy. With Zaha I always thought it was about money, and the "want to win some silverware" was a bit of a ruse. His next move will decide what he truly wants.

These clubs may have been unwilling to shell out the mooted £50 million of a few years ago, but with no transfer fee it becomes a different proposition.

Look at the impact Trossard has made at Arsenal, and there’s an argument that Zaha is at least as good as any of the Liverpool forwards (other than Salah) and is better than Sancho or Wieghorst at Man Utd for example.
Zaha has been at Palace so long we can sometimes take him for granted.

He doesn't beat players like he used to, he doesn't have the same explosive pace, and he gives the ball away a bit too much...but...he is still explosive around the 18-yard box and is a potential match winner. There are surprisingly few players like him in the PL. I know we haven't scored in the two games he's been back, but he is the only one who has looked likely to with the offside and a couple of close attempts out of nothing. One thing is for certain, it is clear we don't have a readymade replacement right now if he leaves.
