Potentially somewhat off topic but I'm going for it anyway. Nick, I respect your knowledge of politics, what are your views on Diane Abbott?

Not without some good ideas, puts her foot in her mouth a lot, criticism sometimes deserved, but alas disproportionate as she is a panto villain politician.
Supposed to be a very good constituency M.P. She must be doing something right to get re elected.

Although time and time again proved to be a hypocrite....and the lefts favorite term(when used against the right) Racist.
And she is a pantomine politician as you described her, because thta just what she is,Pathetic woman whos quest for power knows no limits....or morals.

Also hasn't had his genitals in a pigs mouth, literally speaking, although having apparently done the nasty with Abbott presumably is guilty of such acts figuratively.

Which is probably worse.

Perhaps not but only becuase he is too busy trying to remove his foot from his own mouth (and his cock from abbotts hoop)

Blokes a fool, and will be deposed by Hilary Benn, then and only then will labour stand a chance of winning.

Corbyn wants to nationalise the banks, the railways and we all know that that would be a disater.

Just seen on a bbc4 documentary that before privatisation, BR was the 2nd cheapest and most efficient railway in Europe.
Now it's among the most expensive!

The railways are a disgrace but if they're now at capacity and all the lines need updating and Labour don't want High Speed then it doesn't matter who owns them. Even the government (as it does in the form of TfL) needs to turn a profit to reinvest.

Are you talking about public perception or what the press say? There's a difference. Of course the press are trying to discredit him, the media barons are the ones with most to lose if Corbyn gains even more popularity.

The press aren't just trying to discredit Corbyn, they're succeeding. As a Labour party supporter, I'd suggest there are two options available:

1) Eliminate right-wing bias in the media.
2) Get a leader who is less of a liability.

I'd struggle to do the first option effectively. I think I could find at least 200 MPs who open up options on the second.

Get rid of a leader who has seen membership of the labour party bigger than it's been for a long long time? A mistake I feel.
These people don't want a 'Tory lite' labour leader.

The problem for Labour is that members doesn't equal votes. People prone to membership of the party are likely to vote for a jellyfish if it's wearing a red rosette, what they need to do to win an election is grab significant numbers from "non-political" people. I really don't think Corbyn's the man to do that for them. As for the membership vote, I think it may be a case of "be careful what you wish for", but time will telll, and I don't know diddly (except I wouldn't personally trust him to run a bath, let alone a country).

More members = more people canvassing and arguing the toss on the doorsteps of the nation. Must have some impact?

I read this morning that over 85% of labour mp's want to go with an anti austerity agenda. Who in the leadership contest, other than Corbyn, campaigned on this agenda?

My "mate Dave" works for the Labour Party and nationally and locally the number of people canvassing for the party has absolutely plummeted since the last election despite the membership doubling.
