And keeping the club holding on so he can leave on a free and have better chances of a bigger club and wage and we lose £20-30 mil, or maybe £20 mil realistically and therefore won’t have those funds for a replacement. Have we been looking at an eventual replacement if he leaves? Have we fvck is my expectation.

It's pretty uninspiring to play for palace at the moment, we're selling our best not improving the team and not really doing any better than we were a few seasons ago. It's what happened to clubs like Villa before they eventually went down, best players move onto bigger clubs, they don't get replaced so the remaining good players eventually do the same until you're left with a championship club.

The positive is that Luka is replacable, he isn't the greatest player despite being quite highly rated by most fans but I think that would be different if he wasn't the captain. CDMs that can win a ball and spray it out wide aren't that hard to come by.

Dougie has a shortlist of replacements don't worry. Its Cabaye, Sako or Joel Ward to play RB and CDM at the same time (the position is closest on the field so won't be too much extra running). In Dougie I trust.

I think everyone is overreacting with Luka. Nothing has hinted from any sources that he is unhappy or wants to leave he is still the captain and is still doing press duties and interviews about his happiness with that role and at palace. He wants more money, sure I think he probably is within his rights to sign a bigger contract and I’m sure the club will sit down with him when the window shuts and they have more time and thrash out negotiations.
