12 games to go, in theory slightly better games for us than the previous 12 and 6 (SIX) positions to drop. Not a definite probability but good enough for my old head.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Roy was at the game Saturday. Most of the top half teams have looked inconsistent and beatable this season. Roy saved us from certain relegation once before. Interesting analogy Tim, all I would say is sometimes the Captain loses his head and needs to be thrown in the brig. Perhaps it’s time for the Lieutenant and his chippies to come and board up the hull and break out the bilge pumps. Yup. Possibly, but he did just fine and dandy last season. The only thing that has changed is the crew working on the deck though, so, perhaps he has lost his mind. Or, more likely, the onlookers have lost their heads, thinking he should be able to get the same results with a different crew. It depends which way you look at it. Glass half full, PV in, glass half empty, PV out.

He has to go, the players looked absolutely lost, look at Andersons face after he plays a couple of long balls up front. He is class but he knew we were beyond help. Eze, how bad was he after coming on? Doucoure!!!!! PV has to go, the pressure has got to the players and nobody is coaching them. It's not all his fault, Parish and co have sleeped walked into this mess - no investment, no money for the new stand (that will never happen). How can we allow the keeper situation come to this? Everything is f""ked. I would bring Shaun Derry back, and say no pressure, you couldnt do any worse than the last bloke.

See people commenting saying we haven't done that bad etc losing by only one goal in recent games.. The players look as clueless as the manager now. Put Freedman in charge till the end of the season, he deserves a few games in the prem. Edited by barrie2301 (15 Mar 2023 10.33pm)

I’m going to add to the messages on here it may sound crazy but hey it stacks up to all the other ludicrous comments : Keep the same players we have as they will play so well under new bosses

No sane palace fan wants Vieira at the club anymore. This season has been a disaster. Even the few wins we scraped were incredibly fortunate. Hassenhuttl is probably the best of the available managers at the moment. We are tighter than a ducks arse so will probably end up with Derry or Freedman. Either way our chances of survival will only get better once we make the change. Can’t expect to play the same players in the same system and expect any other outcome than a 1-0 defeat every week. Every stat going (win %, XG, distance run, etc) all show we aren’t in this position due to bad luck. This is piss poor management.

He's 2nd joint favourite with the bookies to be next to go (alongside a manager whose contract actually expires in 10 games time) for a reason. 5 points and 4 goals in 11 league games, plus the FA Cup defeat, alongside the records we're setting for ineptitude in front of goal and work rate would have any manager at any club under severe pressure. I'd argue at most clubs they'd already be gone. There's at least a strong enough argument to deserve a reasoned rebuttal.

We were aggressive and proactive for 15 minutes. We were not able to take decent opportunities to score due to the inability of our players. Brighton scored and their confidence grew to take control and our confidence dropped. It was not the manager that missed the relatively easy chances to score it was the players. It was the player’s heads that dropped because they failed to score. We have to face it the quality of the players we have are not capable of competing against the top half sides. It remains to be seen in the coming weeks if the players are capable of scoring against the lower half teams. The manager does not miss the chances to put the ball in the net it is the players. It will be touch and go if we survive but if we don’t it will be down to the bad misses of the forwards or the poor mistakes from the defenders not just the perceived quality of the manager. I still think we will survive.COYP
