Really dissapointed that Freedman is back with our club.
What is Steve parish thinking.
Judas taking his pieces of silver
Never saw this coming

Some are welcoming him back with short memories
Not me

I expected a very mixed reaction to his appointment.
Clearly if we get some players 'Over the line' that prove to be good buys it will all be down to Freedman !

It will be bad enough if FDB fails and is removed of his duties. To many it will be a 'Double whammy' if Freedman replaces him. Many have concluded that this scenario could unfold but they might be off track - time as ever will tell !

It's only the conspiracy theorists that see this as the reason Freedman was appointed yet those same theorists obviously never noticed that we already have another failed manager in our ranks and Sammy Lee wasn't given the job when Big Sam left

Willo do you not think that it's actually a clever position for him forgetting any animosity towards him for a second... That he knows the club... Can do a good job in finding players for a relatively low cost if needed, will most likely want to prove his position as I bet he feels pretty bad over the way he left, if the s*** hits the fan and we do go down for what ever reason and FDB doesn't stay.... We have Sammy Lee and Dougie there already who know the players and the setup.

You can be as bitter as you like but if you steer around the lemons you are hoarding you may see the relevance to the appointment.

As I have said, I really want the scenario whereby Freedman is a positive influence and FDB proves a success. This is in ALL our interests as supporters of the club.Such feelings transcend any antipathy we might have against the Freedman appointment.

The world of business works in strange ways, in my experience.
Highly politicised, dogged determination and manipulativeness (is this a word ?)seems to triumph regularly over ability and accountability.

Personally, I have never been re-employed (or stayed in-touch with) former employers. I would have kept a huge distance from any employer who I'd left, midway through a critical project I was leading, for a pay-rise and attempting to asset-strip after my departure.

It is extremely rare for people to return to former employers after exhibiting behaviour , such as Dougie's

It was obvious at the time, the HOL radio interview was a manipulative attempt by DF to 'clear the air' after starting a stint on the dole. His explanations stank of being entirely scripted/rehearsed. (Am not questioning the integrity of HOL radio)

We will never know what has been going on behind closed doors in the lead-up to this appointment. For me, the trust and respect for the man is gone. His management experience is very limited and his abilities totally unproven, except perhaps in failure.

I trust Steve Parish totally
I trust Dougie not at all.

Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me twice, shame on me

Has anyone got any info as yet as to what our esteemed Director of Football will actually do in addition to managing the players (Frank et al), buying players (existing head of recruitment) and funding activity (owners/board)?

He certainly didn't fail with us as a manager as we were on course for an automatic promotion place under Freedman until he left.

You may not trust Dougie but there again you don't have to as Steve Parish (whom you trust totally) has appointed him to assist him and he obviously does trust him

He left after 11 league games so there was still a long way to go in the season.

Yet Holloway later claimed that the team that Dougie had assembled was so good that it didn't need a manager as it managed itself

He also left a team of talented individuals that got us promoted.

I just think Parish has been scratching his head for quite a while now not really knowing what he can do to get Palace to the consistent level of a Stoke or Southampton even with all the dosh and this is just another example of him throwing the dice and hoping it comes up '7'. It may work, who knows?

I agree totally with this. He made his bed and should be made to lay in it. However, he has just ordered a new king size! I just don't get it. Although, it's true, we don't know the whole story. But still feel uncomfortable with the appointment.
