I love your moniker. By way of a crazy coincidence, I was talking to someone this afternoon about the earlier Joseph Paxton. There was an earlier Joseph Paxton than me? I oft see reported that I met my demise in Sydenham some time ago? I gave the world the common-all-garden banana - a few other secrets to longevity I keep to myself. The Spurs...hot or not? MAjor changes - can they adapt?

Yes, the conversation I was in was about your Cavendish banana, which accounts for just short of 50% of global banana sales even though it is just one out of over 1,000 banana varieties. Very impressive!

Seeing as we all love click-bait musings, here is one on an 'outgoing' player(maybe) . . . Chris Richards to Stuttgart. Yes, people will straight away say 'well, he's always injured' before he came to us maybe, while he's been with us, no.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

At the beginning of the window the click bait suggested we were over loading with £30 mill central defenders we didn’t need , now with barely two weeks to go , having sold O,Brian, we will be content with Thompkins, as our only option. They do have fun.

Tomkins - Tompkins - Thompkins - Hompkins - Hopkin.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Just my tuppence worth but I’l be very surprised if we sign a striker this window. Especially looking at whats available at the moment. For me if we are going to make any signings. It will be keeper, Left back and left winger.

With this in mind I would say we have around £50m to spend & £20m for wages of which we have done around £20m on Franca & Hall. This will leave us around £30m give or take. We have another loan so will use the bulk of this money on a striker. Amazing how many done deals don’t get done Dazza.

Rumour has it (well actually a man with a dog shaking his fist at a passing cloud) that we won't be making any more signings this window.

Well it could be said you might have noticed if I had dropped an H but you are right of course, wrong Tomkins, have fun. Edited by Putitout (18 Aug 2023 2.52pm)
