All spelling jokes aside why are we being linked with so many goalkeepers when we have two decent ones already? Does the media know something we don't? Because Jules is not getting any younger and Hennessey isn't the next level if we want to continue to progress. Both are now top end Championship / bottom end Premier League keepers.

Bit harsh on Hennessey. He's looked pretty good to me when he has been given a chance.

WH is more than fine for us for many a year imo. You base your stance regarding Wayne on what exactly?

Link from the Bu***hit Mirror but if true & we did sign Krul would Hennessey leave? I can't see him wanting to be 2nd choice again next season. He deserves his chance now.

Agreed - Jules re-consider 12-18 months time; Wayne is current Welsh international first choice, I expect him to take over from Jules gradually. We must have goalies in the development and academy set ups who would benefit from first team work - behind our (hopefully mean) defence. I leave matters to Mr Alan Pardew, and Directors of CPFC 2010.

But it relies on possible future developments to guesstimate that random players are going to random clubs. It also helps if the player's somehow connected with the manager (ie Newcastle players and Pards).

I think WH is more than capable of filling JS gloves next season, He played well when he was called upon and can be a top class keeper for us. Edited by gaz1959 (28 Jun 2015 8.54am)

One of two things seems clear. Either a). Pardew simply does not fancy Hennessey, or b). that he has a good enough offer for Hennessey (from WBA?) and can bring in Krul for less money than WH that he thinks the deal makes sense financially without sacrificing ability at the position. It also seems pretty obvious that Jules will not start the season in possession of the number one shirt unless either WH or Krul totally fails to displace him in pre-season. My sense is that WH will probably go and Krul will probably come in to replace him, giving us what Pards believes is a better keeper for the same (or less) money when everything is taken into account (transfer fee plus wages). I feel a bit for WH...like Guediora he really has not been given a chance. But that said, Krul is a proven quantity at Premiership level and WH is not.
