Poor today. Struggling to see £30m worth at the moment. I think having Big Sam here will be good for him.

Has an arrogance that I am not warming to! In the position that we are in he really needs to step it up a little and contribute to the team.
Curly eagles dad, 45 years of Palace. Never ever a dull moment, Oh Happy Days |

Needs competition for his place. We've seen what he can do but looking lazy will endear him to no-one. We need to be able to play one up top with a choice of strikers or 4-4-2 with two, and with Wickham out and the only other choice being Campbell I'm afraid he's king of the castle and knows it. There was no excuse for that pathetic effort of a penalty. Gomes had been watching his videos, had Benteke been watching Gomes'?

Poor pen ,I don't like that style which always give the keeper a fighting chance , should give someone else a go . In general he needs to be stronger and make runs into the box instead of pulling back . Always a sign of low confidence which he needs to address ......fast .

It should be perfectly possible for a top-quality striker to take a penalty that no keeper on the planet has an earthly chance of saving. You hit it hard and low and into the bottom corner. Even if you tell him you're putting it there it's still unsaveable. In the middle - if he stays put you're goosed. Only risk is accuracy but for a first-choice penalty taker FFS.

At 1-0 up away from home in a struggling side. Why be so flash. What? Like his effort against West Ham you mean??!!! He needs to be taken off the job. He seems to lack confidence at it. Also, what was he doing when he was clear if he had gone left?? He seemed to be so unsure.

Very annoying penalty miss. Gomez had done his homework and knew not to commit early. Then Deeney shows us how it should be done. Still makes a change to hang on for a point instead of throwing it away in the dying minutes.

I expect one of the chapters in Sam's dossier of How to Avoid Palace Dropping Bollocks will be entitled "Making sure our penalties aren't s***e".

There is a formula I've seen somewhere where it is physically impossible for the goalie to save a penalty (speed of kick, angle of kick) can't remember where I saw it but why not practice it after training rather than all these faints,stop/start,giving keeper "the eyes" etc). Still, I'd have taken a point before kickoff, we need to start our comeback somewhere (though it was disappointing having had the chance for 2-0). I think Sam summed it all up pretty well post match. Onwards & upwards...who's up next...Arsenal you say...bug**r! 🦅🔴🔵
