bollocks is he championship standard...been good enough as a right back since we got promoted...must be a damn good reason why 4 different managers never replaced him. they all had the chance.

The left side has been a problem this season, so it's not just for the sake of it. I think Sam feels Schlupp is more of a winger than defender, if this is the case then PVA makes perfect sense.

Schlupp is very fast and in my opinion will be more of a threat than Sako. I can't see Townsend being first choice any longer, I'd be surprised if he is at palace come the 1st of February.

not even he is that stupid

Sam stated that 20 players were considered or offers made on, so far more than 2.
January is a difficult market, teams don't want to let players go, unless they aren't in their plans, which indicate there not any good.
No point buying, unless they are better than we have.

Signing players for the sake of avoiding relegation, more like. This squad has massive holes.

Schlupp and PVA bring much needed balance to the team.

Now we need a defensive midfielder and we are in business.

While I've never been a fan of SA it hasn't taken him long to identify the glaring gaps that Pardew left behind.

Of course he would. Desperate for SA to fail yet doesn't want Palace to fail. Utter confusion.

Have done far better in the PL than any of our so called PL
Players.
Especially Ward.

Neillo if we sign a DM whose place will he take Cabaye?

Cabaye might well be off.

If we're signing Schlupp, PatVan and Jenkinson that's over £20mil at £30mil so money to make up, possibly from the sale of Cabaye and still money to buy a Dec mid.

All this should've been done in August anyway but hopefully we'll stay up and have done it well and not wasted more millions. If we're lucky we could eventually have a well rounded prem squad next season but shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. Wilf might go in the summer.

If we sign a decent DM (read expensive) it could well be funded by selling Cabaye

Could do with an attacking mid that can actually create chances as well.

It's a difficult one do we either invest whatever is needed now to try and avoid relegation knowing of course that we could still go down. Or do we keep going with what we have and hope, of course if we go down then the loss of income will dwarf any transfer spending, plus our better players will the leave at cut price fees as we can't afford wages.
