I would be really worried that can he really get over this injury we dodged a bullet with Y B after his injury we got good money for him and now another long term injury gutted for him but if we spend 30 M on Sakho it comes with a significant risk should we quit whilst ahead? I bet this is why e is still at Liverpool. No one is going to risk £30m or even £20m until he is proven match fit and that won't be soon.

We all love Sakho, but need to remember that Sakho was signed by big Sam. FDB may have different plans. A problem that was pointed out by Liverpool fans that Sakho good at defending in a compact group. He major problem was that he got caught high up the field and his positioning was poor. That said, still love him to sign. So potentially FdB could improve Sakho given the dutchman focuses on positioning. Maybe we become a more attractive prospect to MS now that Frank de Eagle is here.

Liverpool aren't going to move much, if at all, on the price (think Benteke). We could spend all summer trying to beat the price down, time that'd probably be better spent on a more affordable target.

I'm probably one of many thinking that as Klopp continues to splash out the cash we may eventually get our man at a good price as Liverpool try to recoup some of their expenditure. Or perhaps as the price drops lower and lower others may step in and snap him up. Palace fans aren't the only people to have noticed the positive effect that he had when he was here and it's now rumoured that Stoke are after him

If we can afford it, the there are no other questions. Just sign him. He's immense and would guarantee a top 10 or even 8 finish for us next season if he stays fit the whole way through. Edited by Brentmiester_General (28 Jun 2017 7.38am)

About as bang on the button as your other "sources" then, eh, Willo? That was over 3 years ago when he was playing for Liverpool and maybe at that time he was not at the peak of his form and as such not as confident as he would like to be. My source knows the art of defending !!!!

I don't think it's just down to cost. FDB may know someone equally as talented as Sakho who is younger and cheaper and therefore a better all-round option. It's no secret that we need to strengthen CB and FDB will know that and have his own ideas of who to bring in for his style of football.

But you are right it is down to cost. They are asking too much (for our budget) and we should be exploring other options. If they find a buyer at £30m who is willing to pay those wages I will be surprised. He was the right man for the moment and will always be a legend but we can't spunk the majority of our transfer budget on him when we also need a right back, a striker, probably three midfielders - one of whom should be an attacking/playmaker type.
