With or without meat, Lewis Hamiltion has had a personality bypass.

I'm not telling anyone how to eat. Im only pointing out the fact that many people are surviving and thriving, pro athletes included, on a vegan diet. This goes contrary to the popular belief which many people still hold that a person can only succeed and be healthy by eating meat. As for his personality some people like him and some dont. I think he's a pretty good fella. Edited by sitdownstandup (30 Oct 2017 4.45pm)

The difference is that getting protein secondhand from meat, not direct from plants, brings with it all the elements that cause heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, strokes and a large number of cancers. Also, it's impossible to over-eat on a plant-based diet. You fill up long before you can do any harm to your body and the only side effects are that you consume a ton of beneficial nutrients and have a giant crap the next morning. Edited by Ray in Houston (30 Oct 2017 4.44pm) In the latter half of his career when he wound down the sprinting. Why else would he have had the Carl Lewis grill? Not to get all the fat out his grilled veg. Hamilton isn't a vegan yet but if Peter Siddle can sustain his, and Serena Williams her, frame as one I'm sure he'll be fine if he does it.

No wonder Senna loved karting so much. 'Real racing and real racers.' It would be more interesting and exciting if they mixed up the grid starting positions on the grid over the season in say the first 10.

Hamilton won his first title on the last corner, of the last race of the season. They all love karting, if you think they aren't real racers then you have no idea about motorsport at all. The grids are regularly mixed up nowadays via engine/grid penalties. Vettel started last in Malaysia and came 4th, for example. If you like shuffling the grid then watch the BTCC (but just race 3 of the weekend, as they use boring old qualifying for race 1 and race 1 results for race 2).

Then there's being vegan, which is harder by a significant multiple. No butter, no milk, no cheese. Sauteed mushrooms? Nope, not if they're cooked in butter. It's extraordinarily difficult to do. I'm "mostly" vegan, because I still eat eggs and cheese on occasion. I'm actually only "mostly" vegetarian, because I don't interrogate the waiter when I eat out to see if there's any animal fat or stock used in cooking my meal. I know where there is a strongly likelihood of animal products in my food, and avoid those where possible but, as I said, Tex-Mex...
