I'm amazed at the approach taken to Luka's pen miss and that of Benteke. Where are the cries that Luka should never play for us again and to sell him January because he took a poor penalty??

I'm not Luka's biggest fan but nor am I his smallest. He's playing well at the moment and his goal was a fantastic finish. Long may it continue. However, its taken him nearly a quarter of the season to get back to this form and he was one of our poorest players at the start of the season when he actually got a game.

If he keeps up his current form then he rightly deserves his place in the side, and long may it continue. To laud him as our best signing for years though is a bit premature

What a load of crap.

FDB seemed to either bench Luka or play him at centre half. His position is defensive midfield and anyone with an ounce of knowledge of our team knows that he is in the starting 11 every game in that position. For me that was the biggest mistake FDB made amongst numerous mistakes. I lost confidence in him there and then.

As for Benteke treatment. He had taken poor penalties previously, Luka was 4 in 4 when Benteke took the ball off him against team orders. That’s why everyone was so pissed with him. I still want Luka to take the next penalty and I just felt sorry for him on Sunday, I didn’t, like most of us, blame him one bit. Players do miss sometimes.

Amazed you don’t see it but for me Luka is a huge player for us and one that clearly loves our club too.

Because he didnt nick the ball from our nominated penalty taker and selfishly refuse to give it back.
He made a mistake and missed get over it.

A technicality I accept but it never gives the keeper credit...if he chooses the other direction its a goal.

A miss is when the keeper has no effect on the outcome at all; so in this instance the penalty wasnt missed.

Fully appreciate and understand this and have supported this ideology myself in certain circumstances - usually under the influence of items from the medicine cupboard. Nevertheless, seeing as a zero followed our clubs name at the full time whistle, and to keep it simple - if you don’t score, you ‘miss’. And as much as I like Luka, a traffic cone with a comedy wig nailed to it, could have ‘saved’ that penalty.

Missing the target, often from very close range, is far more of a problem for us than the occasional penalty miss.

Wilfrid the worst culprit !!

A simple chance from Hennessey's massive punt, all he has to do is compose himself and place it, alas smashed over the bar from 2 yards.

The problems of genius.

They don't necessarily tap in from 2 yards into an empty net..............

And Andros hitting the ball with his left when he should have hit it with his right on Sunday blazing over an empty net.

You clearly lack the ability to make the simplist deduction.

I had a tear in my eye when he said he hadn’t slept for a couple of nights after missing the penalty! He’s not put a single foot wrong in the year he’s been with us! My favourite player by a country mile!

Couldn’t agree more. Absolutely love the mans passion and desire for Palace. You don’t pick up signings to often like Luka.

He's been awesome, in every way. Leader on the field, committed and competent player, he's great.

But it's how much he loves it that makes me appreciate him the most. It's not just his bellowing celebration at the end of yesterday's game but I tend to look out for him after every goal we score.. he goes nuts!! Go back and watch goal highlights from our last few games and you'll see what I mean.

Err I think he has put a few feet wrong actually. But he’s Palace and we love him.
