We’ve got some excellent attacking players here and we want to get the ball up to them, in control, as many times as possible. I’m sure that up against any defenders, with their quality, they can be a real problem.”

Really if they were doing that we would not be where we are now

He's hardly going to say that the strikers are crap so we are doomed

Going into this game with Patrick at the helm had doom and gloom written all over it. Not here to lay blame, that is much more complex and looking up; nevertheless the players will see the moment as a reboot. Whatever the outcome, it is a new beginning and we should all wish Paddy and his team positive vibes and perhaps see a bit of the old palace fight, even if we go down to the best team in Prem right now, on their home turf. Nowhere near as critical as the games coming up after the int. break. If Joe is in goal, then it has a script of magical mystery written all over it!

Look, Paddy's emergency manager for one game. We really don't need to discuss whether he's the best man for the job...right now, he's the ONLY man for the job. Just get 100% behind him between now and Sunday and worry about what happens next after that.

Paddy is a legend, loves the club, managed the U21's before this..... Exactly what we need in the interim. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up having him and Darren until end of the season... Fans will give him a massive reception for his first game at Selhurst.... Let's get behind him and bring back some of that old school passion from our promotion season!

Hopkin looks to curl one!

And the squad will be very aware that he has his pool of Academy players to be substitutes or starters ready and willing to do their bit for their club.

Whatever outcome against the best team in the land, if we're bleeding for the shirt and give it all, we should applaud Paddy. And please, please, NO Roy H. back in the dugout.

Spot on Syd (as you often are). I just want to see if there's a positive reaction from the players on Sunday and a bit more fire and spirit from them (and yes it would be nice to get something from the game - but that would be a real and unexpected bonus).

Unless Hughes is over his illness, Paddy had the same problem against Arsenal that PV would have had. And that’s only Doucoure being a recognised central midfielder. Lakonga isn’t available and Macca is injured? We may have to play Luka to balance our midfield?

Balance as in "on the edge of a cliff"?

Hughes/Macca both had an illness & both trained y/day & as they are at the training ground, i assume they will both train today. I agree it looks increasingly likely, Luka will start alongside Doucoure(interesting who gets the 1st yellow/red). Guaita has got a 'Hammy' so 4-6 weeks, Johnstone due back after break. Ferguson(remember him) played most of U21's y/day & got booked. ASL cant play against parent club.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
