Cant blame him to be fair . Who would want to play under Southgate .
The whole international qualification thing though needs tightening up . With migration around the world now common we see many players being able to chose between 2/3/4 different countries . Makes it all a bit farcical and you end up with situations like France v Senegal a few years back where Senegal had more French born players than France .

Country of birth for me and thats it .

That would mean Guehi would appear for the Ivory Coast and players like Barnes and Butcher never pulling on an England shirt

Additional twist for the summer:

The Olympics will have U23 football, competition runs July 26th to August 11th. As usual the home nations won't come together to form Team GB. Olise if he doesn't make the main Euro squad is quite likely be in the French Olympic squad.

If Olise is not good enough for the French Squad then surely they will piss the tournament?

Olise for England. About time we made him an offer he can't refuse. And Eze.

I like Southgate, seems a good guy but f*** me with the team we have we should go into these Euros fearing nobody. This weekend Southgate was all negative and said we need to be cautious… enough of that s***. Go into it with the attitude we are going to blitz everybody we go up against. I would love to see Olise play for England by the way.

His first choice back four is a real concern. Only Walker is match fit with Shaw still out, Maguire injured and a 5th choice at mid-table Man U if the squad was fit, and Stones who is a bench player now behind Ake and Akanji

Even Mitchell is being touted as a squad option. As a Palace fan, I'd support him but did you see how many times he gave the ball away on Saturday?

Ah! hadn't thought of that ,will really mess up his pre season with us and will be playing every 3 days in quite a congested tournament which will carry injury risks

Hes not my cup of tea , got too involved with the politics but thats neither here nor there . I feel he has wasted some good opportunities to win tournaments with negative football .As you say Den ,giving it a good go is the way ,Southgate will play too defensive and England will be knocked out by either a late goal or penalties .

Andersen is nailed on.

Guehi will probably go - realistically Maguire, Stones and Guehi are Southgate's most trusted 3 CBs. Anyone else starting would be a surprise regardless of arguments that could be made about form due to a sheer lack of inexperiences.

Eze has an outside chance. He is in good form but stacked against players doing better across the season (Saka, Palmer, Foden) or players with big reputations who may get picked for tournament experience alone (Grealish, maybe Rashford).

Henderson has an outside chance. Pickford goes and the other options are a shambles of injury and not playing. Pickford, Henderson and Foderingham are the only 3 English GKs actually starting in the Premier League at the minute. Ramsdale (games) and Pope (injury) could well be out of it.

Wharton could be the bolter, Olise could be a bolter for the France squad but probably needs to shift Moussa Diaby out so more likely the Olympics squad. Mitchell would need Chilwell to break down again and for Shaw to not be fit in order to go.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

That's a good summary. I see Eze as more of a backup to Bellingham with Maddison as his main rival, but can see him using Foden there in an emergency and taking an extra winger
Neither Chilwell nor Shaw are currently fit. He'd probably rather use Trippier there but he has only just returned as a late sub. TBH, I don't think Mitchell is nowhere near the standard required as his last two away performances have shown
