Got to get behind Roy now he’s in post ….but let’s not pretend this isn’t a very depressing situation.

The only silver lining I can see is Paddy’s inclusion in the first team set up.

There'll be a huge cheer and reception for Roy, if some of it may actually be a little humourous in nature. I suppose all we can do is laugh.

We have london derbies to look forward to against Millwall and QPR next season then. Awful appointment that poser Parrish has lost the plot. Roy is a nice fella but he will play one up front in the last 10 games and try and nick games 1-0 or 0-0.

The other teams down the bottom have better strikers than us and score more goals. We should do what Everton are doing and have protests outside the ground against Parrish and the board.

0.65 points per a game.

Applying that logic to the last 10 games this season will see us gain another 6/7 points, so lets say 7 points - we finish on 34 points.

We've been playing Roy ball all season & it's seen us creep ever closer to the drop.

Terrible move by the club especially after all the song & dance we made over Roy leaving.

We have 10 games to go and if we get those 13 points that leaves us on 40 points, would the other 6 teams below us (ignore the bottom two) would that total leave us safe??

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

The maths wasn't quite right was it? It's over a point per game. I haven't looked into it but I wondered if it were 10 points from last 13 games. As I say, haven't looked. Either way would still be closer than you think.

This results from SP panicking. We have some easier games coming up and even though we have shocking strikers who couldn’t hit a barn door PV was still the best bet. RH is good at stopping goals but our problem is scoring them. SP should consider his position I think this is the weakest squad I can remember and results from a lack of investment in the club. For example what has happened to the new stand to increase capacity and revenue?

Last season and for much of this seaaon we've had far more possession in matches than in previous seasons.
Our coaching under Vieira has been very much based on retaining possession and building up from the back and playing through midfield.
Roy's coaching has tended to depend on remaining compact and blocking spaces with liitle emphasis on amount of possession.

I wonder what his approach will be this time around as if he starts from scratch there isn't much time to apply his methods which entail painstaking drilling on the training field.
I do recall Ray Lewington saying if you don't follow Roy's instructions you don't play.
However, I'm sure he won't want to confuse the players who have been used to working under a different regime for nearly two seasons.
With only 10 games left it may be a case of Roy having to adapt on this occasion such is the paucity of time.

I recall that interview. Problem Roy has is getting so many awol players up and running doing it his way in such a limited time frame . Could turn out horribly wrong.

I dont pretend everything is all rosy in the garden, but we are not bottom of the championship with -10 points as we started that season before parish and co took us over.
we are a crappy team from south london, i think we have been punching well above our weight for years...for reasons we are all aware of we cant compete with the bigger teams with player wages..might as well enjoy the rest of the season, even if the great messiah plays a 6-4-0 formation and we stay up...
One thing that gets me though its not SP's club he is just the frontman for the press, there are others in the consortium who make decisions as well...and its their money so they can hire/fire who they want..

I was hoping this wouldn't happen!

However, it has happened so we have to support Roy and the team. On a plus, he knows the club and the players.

On a negative, the matches under his leadership were poor and his recent record in the Prem is shocking.

As someone rightly said on TV, Palace defensively are not too bad compared to some, but we cannot score.

We now have to WIN games, so he will need to sort this promptly with the players we have. We have some great forward players. Roy, if you are reading this: please, please do not f*** this up by parking the bus, as we will lose- THIS WILL NOT BE GOOD.

Well, I've had ten hours or so to get used to the news - still very, very (add dozens more 'verys') disappointed that we should take such a backward step.

My question is:
Why has Parish made Paddy assistant manager instead of Ray Lewington who has the job of being first team coach? Is it to ensure that Ray has control of how the players are to be coached to fulfill Roy's diktats?

Basically what WILL Paddy's role really be?
