It's not unreasonable for Liverpool to make a loss on Benteke in my opinion. If they paid £32 million, as has been reported, and our valuation is £25 million, we should not offer more just to insure Liverpool against any loss. It's just the cost you bear for a signing not working out - and we have had one or two of those.

Benteke was completely wrong for their system; passing style, not enough crosses and trying to play through the middle. In 14/15 he had a better season than Lukaku. And despite all the criticism, I think he still scored 10 last season.

In today's inflated market, particularly in view of our depreciating pound against the euro, do not be surprised if there is not some interest in him from overseas. He could represent good value in our currency to a continental team ,so think we need to get a deal done in a timely manner.

I think we should just pay it I'm stunned with the transfer business palace have done so far if we get Tomkins and beneteke over the line all we would need is another striker than that would be our transfer business done andto get it done so early is absolutely amazing but ive always said we should get it done before pre season anyway but thank you To everybody at palace for such amazing signing and a big statement of intent

It's not even 10% change on the pound/euro. If you're in that ballpark, you are. If you're not, 10% in your favour is not going to suddenly make it affordable.

Based on performances last season he has not gained in value, he has underperformed therefore he is worth less money. I thoroughly believe if we get him we will have a 20 goal a season striker, but I believe the market should reflect the fact he hasn't had a great season and will no longer be first choice. I'm not negative but I'm really glad Batsayushi fell through as I don't think he is worth anything like 30 million and I think Chelsea have been fleeced. But Benteke could get firing, equally he could be like wilf, didn't make it at a top club and this could be his level. Honestly never have I been so excited during silly season every signing looks a player. Get this and Tomkins over the line, then we need to sort out one ore two more defenders (CB and a versatile Full back) and maybe another striker. Best our team has looked since promotion.

Could easily get 20 goals if fit... I'll have some of your pipe cheers..
