It would have taken a really sharp eyed liner to see Sanchez's toes a millimeter offside on the first goal. Only with the benefit of the electronic line on a replay did I spot it.

Arsenal were just better than us for most of the game, and Sanchez was just on fire. But we put two past them, and made a game of something, that they should have put to bed in the first half.

Without Sanchez, we win that game. He was just the difference really.

Both W.Ham and Southampton managed to draw with them at 'Home' recently so there was perhaps hope we could at least achieve a similar result but our performance was in the main disappointing.

I look at that differently. That was one of if not the best Arsenal have played away all season. When they move the ball around quickly and purposefully as they did at times last night, it's hard to stay with them.

I was encouraged by the character our players showed, and with a bit of good fortune we may have nicked a point although we didn't quite deserve that much

Arsenal played well as we allowed them to do so.

In the first half we were far too passive and paid them far more respect than we should have done. Our midfield 'Engine room' with only 2 in there to their 3 was over-run partly due to the fact that our 2 didn't perform to the required standard and also because we were not getting up to close them down so they were able to pop the ball about at will.So I think systems played a part.

When they went 3-1 up I feared they could maybe get 4 or 5, but credit to our side for showing character and not 'Throwing in the towel' as some other teams might have done.We kept going and could have nicked a point at the end but we wouldn't have deserved it.

The arse stepped it up against us I am afraid.
When they are firing with one touch footy they are hard to get the ball off them ... when we did we tried but there centre backs had Benteke on toast ... still we made a game of it and if we got a draw I would have been over the moon. Sanchez was the difference for them, made runs all over the pitch going forward and defending.
Just was a tough night for us ... onwards and upwards.

Is 2 - 3 actually that bad vs arsenal? I couldn't watch the game unfortunately, but what from what I've read we played s***e. I would say that the result is ok considering we were poor.

If you have a look at their forums you will see that they were surprised of how well they were playing.
Last year we got them on a bad night, this season we got them switched on, and when that happens with a team already stronger it gets hard to get a result.
And in those circumstances losing 2-3 against Arsenal isn't a disgrace. And if Zaha scored that easy header there would have been some tense last 15 mins...

Ive only watched the goals today, and there 1st goal Sanchez is offside when the guy has the initial shot and also puts his arm out which for me is distracting the goalie although no one seems to have picked up on this unless ive missed it

The Sky pundits picked up on that. Someone was also shoving Wilf in the back when he went for that header. The ref also failed to give us about 100 other decisions in that game and pandered to Wilshire so much you'd have thought he'd mistaken him for Wayne Rooney.
