He was fantastic for us last season however if he is out of our price range the best we can hope for is a season long loan should he not be bought elsewhere. Assuming that FdB thinks that he will fit in with whatever style of football we will be playing next season.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Assuming that FdB thinks that he will fit in with whatever style of football we will be playing next season. A lot of factors come into play. Price, wages, whether the player wishes to come to us on a permanent deal, does FDB really want him ?. Also maybe FDB feels that the price is far too prohibitive and looking at the 'Bigger picture' feels he could get a couple of players in for that sort of financial outlay. He might of course have someone else in mind.

It's not like he's the only good centre half available. I'd have thought with a bit of scouting, especially with a manager who will (you'd hope) have a bit more of an eye on the continent, that we can get someone of a similar impact who won't cost as much. That has to be the aim here, not spending our entire budget on one player.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

All I said was my source knows the art of defending and is an ex-footballer and as such his comments regarding Sakho back in 2014 have some credence. I've not spoken to him about Sakho's time at our club but if he has seen him play I am sure he will have been impressed.

He's a known entity and we have seen what he has to offer both on and off the pitch and as an individual and also how he raises the level of the rest of the defence.

I have to say that before he turned up at ours I didnt want him here as most games i'd seen him play (esp against us) he was caught in possession or made a rickett or two. To say I was pleasantly surprised in his performances was an understatement and I dare say that having Lovren as a def partner didn't help him much either!

Thought he was excellent for us but would much rather we took that 30 million and spent it on 2 to 5 players. If we can get a couple of decent defenders like Tete and Veltman for a combined 10 million, it makes far more sense to me than 30 million and £100k a week on one player, albeit a fantastic player. Hopefully in 3 or 4 more seasons it will be more realistic for us to be looking at players of his ilk.
